AskDocDoc

Editorial Policy

AskDocDoc publishes health information that people use to make decisions about their wellbeing. Because this is your-money-or-your-life (YMYL) content, we hold every article, wiki entry and doctor answer to a high standard of accuracy, transparency and accountability. This policy explains how our content is created, reviewed and kept up to date.

Who creates our content

Medical articles and wiki entries are written and overseen by qualified, verified doctors and medical writers working with them. Questions submitted by users are answered by verified doctors on the platform — never by bots or auto-generated text. Where a topic benefits from more than one perspective, multiple specialists can weigh in on the same question in our “consilium” format.

Evidence and sourcing

Our guidance is grounded in evidence-based medicine. Recommendations reflect current clinical understanding and the professional experience of practising doctors. When a claim is not supported by research or established clinical practice, it does not belong on AskDocDoc.

Medical review

Articles and wiki entries are subject to review by a qualified doctor. When a piece has been verified, the reviewing doctor is named on the page so you can see who stands behind the information. You can read more about this in our Medical Review Process.

Author transparency

Every article shows its author, and where a doctor has reviewed the content, the reviewer is shown as well. Author and reviewer names link to their profiles on AskDocDoc, where you can see their background and the questions they have answered.

Keeping content current

Medicine evolves, and so does our content. Pages are updated as guidance changes, and each page records when it was last updated. We welcome corrections — if you believe something is inaccurate or out of date, please contact us.

Independence

Editorial decisions are made on medical merit. Our goal is to give you trustworthy, science-driven information explained in plain language.

Important note

AskDocDoc provides general health information and online consultations. It does not replace an in-person relationship with your own physician and is not a substitute for emergency care. Please also read our Medical Disclaimer.
