Doctors' responses

Pimples on the forehead and between the eyebrows can happen for several reasons, but given the dandruff and oily skin you mentioned, these could be key contributors. Dandruff, often linked to an overgrowth of Malassezia yeast, can irritate the scalp and skin around it, leading to breakouts on the forehead area as this irritation could extend past your hairline. Oily skin, common in warmer months, can exacerbate pimple formation due to excess sebum production and clogged pores. Start by addressing the dandruff with a medicated shampoo containing active ingredients like ketoconazole or selenium sulfide, used a few times a week, to help control the fungal component. For oily skin, using a gentle, non-comedogenic cleanser twice daily might help keep oil at bay and reduce clogged pores. Look for salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide products, as they can help clear blocked pores and reduce inflammation. Try introducing one product at a time and observe how your skin reacts—overdoing it can sometimes lead to irritation. Also, maintaining a consistent skin care routine even in winter is crucial, so your skin adapts and becomes more resilient across different seasons. To enhance your overall skin health, keeping the forehead clean and free from oils is essential. Makeup, hats, or hair products should be used minimally, as they could also contribute to breakouts by blocking pores or irritating the skin. If there is no improvement or the condition worsens, it may be worthwhile to consult a dermatologist to explore other underlying causes or treatment options that are more tailored to your specific acne type and skin condition.
