Dr. Bharat Joshi
I’m a periodontist and academician with a strong clinical and teaching background. Over the last 4 years and 8 months, I’ve been actively involved in dental education, guiding students at multiple levels including dental hygienist, BDS, and MDS programs. Currently, I serve as a Reader at MMCDSR in Ambala, Haryana—a role that allows me to merge my academic passion with hands-on experience. Clinically, I’ve been practicing dentistry for the past 12 years. From routine procedures like scaling and root planing to more advanced cases involving grafts, biopsies, and implant surgeries. Honestly, I still find joy in doing a simple RCT when it’s needed. It’s not just about the procedure but making sure the patient feels comfortable and safe. Academically, I have 26 research publications to my credit. I’m on the editorial boards of the Archives of Dental Research and Journal of Dental Research and Oral Health, and I’ve spent a lot of time reviewing manuscripts—from case reports to meta-analyses and even book reviews. I was honored to receive the “Best Editor” award by Innovative Publications, and Athena Publications recognized me as an “excellent reviewer,” which honestly came as a bit of a surprise! In 2025, I had the opportunity to present a guest lecture in Italy on traumatic oral lesions. Sharing my work and learning from peers globally has been incredibly fulfilling. Outside academics and clinics, I’ve also worked in the pharmaceutical sector as a Drug Safety Associate for about 3 years, focusing on pharmacovigilance. That role really sharpened my attention to detail and deepened my understanding of drug interactions and adverse effects. My goal is to keep learning, and give every patient and student my absolute best.

Hello dear See the etiology behind the the acne seems hormonal alterations. Iam suggesting some medications. Also, please Kindly take them for 1 month . Topical Treatments -Benzoyl Peroxide (2.5–5%) Kills bacteria and is anti-inflammatory in action. Salicylic Acid, Adapalene 0.1% can also be given as additive medications. 2.Clindamycin 1% Clindac A ,Tretinoin ( if already not taken). 3.Azelaic Acid 10 percent for two weeks. 4. Oral Medications -tablet Doxycycline 1 month twice a day Niacinamide serum –antiinflammatory in nature In addition use aloevera - tulsi solution to apply topically for 1 month

In case of no improvement in 1 month, kindly consult dermatologist for better clarification Hopefully you recover soon Regards

Managing acne can be challenging, but there are steps you can take to improve your skin condition. Those tiny bumps and whiteheads on your face, along with open pores, scars, and inflamed pimples, often relate to a combination of factors including excess oil production, clogged hair follicles, bacteria, and possibly hormone fluctuations, although your menstruation sounds normal. Dandruff can aggravate acne, especially along the forehead and jawline, so addressing it might help. Here’s a tailored approach: Firstly, consider using a salicylic acid-based cleanser as this ingredient helps to unclog pores and reduce inflammation. Since you’re already using Ahaglow, which contains Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHAs), it might help with exfoliation, but salicylic acid specifically targets acne. Continue using a non-comedogenic moisturizer like the Cetaphil one you have; keeping skin hydrated is important to prevent overproduction of oil. For targeted treatment, a benzoyl peroxide gel or tea tree oil can be applied directly on pimples to reduce bacteria and swelling, but use them sparingly as they may dry out the skin. With open pores and scars, incorporation of a retinoid product at night can aid in increasing cell turnover and can help with scars over time. Remember to apply sunscreen diligently, as retinoids can make your skin more sensitive to the sun. Since your pimples are itchy and painful, avoid touching or picking them to prevent further inflammation or scarring. For the dandruff, a medicated shampoo containing zinc pyrithione or an antifungal ingredient like ketoconazole can control it, which might reduce acne along the hairline. If these topical treatments are not effective after a couple of months, or if your acne worsens, consulting with a dermatologist for personalized advice or prescriptions like oral antibiotics or hormonal treatments could be beneficial. It’s critical to keep an eye on how your skin responds to new products, and introduce them one at a time to monitor any adverse reactions. If your symptoms persist or become severe, a healthcare provider should be consulted to explore underlying conditions or advanced treatment options.
