In terms of relieving her current symptoms, oatmeal baths can indeed help with the itchiness—it’s not a myth. You can prepare by adding colloidal oatmeal to a lukewarm bath, which can really soothe the skin. Calamine lotion can be useful for spot treatment of itchy areas, but apply it sparingly.
