Hi, It’s completely normal to notice veins becoming more visible or bulging on the penis, especially during erection or masturbation. Why this happens-
-During erection or arousal, blood flow increases to the penis. -The veins on the surface become more prominent or bulged because blood is trapped inside to maintain erection. -After ejaculation or when the erection goes down, the veins shrink back to normal. -This is normal anatomy, not a disease.
However, see a doctor (Urologist) if you notice: Pain, tenderness, or hardness along the vein. Redness, swelling, or warmth on the penis. Persistent bulging vein that doesn’t go away even when not erect. Skin discoloration or ulceration. These signs could rarely indicate thrombophlebitis (vein inflammation) or another vascular condition, which can be evaluated by a Urologist.
What you can do- Avoid excessive or rough masturbation. Wear loose, breathable underwear. Stay hydrated and maintain good hygiene. Avoid smoking or performance-enhancing drugs/steroids, which can affect circulation.
