black face to white face

I am kinda freaking out over something I’ve noticed lately. I’ve been having this strange thing happen where my skin seems to change color, almost like a black face to white face situation and it’s really freaking me out! I’ve always had a medium brown complexion, but in the last few months, I’ve noticed patches on my face that have gotten lighter. At first, I thought it was just some weird reaction to a new skincare product, but I switched back to my old routine and nothing changed! I went to see a dermatologist a few weeks back, thinking maybe it was a fungal infection or something, but they said it was likely a form of vitiligo. I’ve started doing more research and found out that this black face to white face transition thing can happen for various reasons, but now I am super confused about it. Is it possible to have this happen suddenly? Like, can stressing out or a diet change cause a black face to white face effect? Is it treatable? And more importantly, how do I even deal with the social impact of this, because honestly, this is making me feel super self-conscious and I just want my skin back to normal! Anyone else have a similar experience? What should I do?
