Dr. Purushottam Sah
Experience: | 43 years |
Education: | University of Calcutta |
Academic degree: | MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery) |
Area of specialization: | I am someone who's deeply involved in treating infertility n sexual disorders, both in men and women. Honestly, it’s not just about medical reports or numbers, right? behind every patient there's a whole emotional thing going on. I mostly work with conditions like low sperm count, premature ejaculation, ED, anejaculation, and on the women’s side—arousal issues or painful intercourse that no one talks much about. I use tests, like hormone panels, scans and sometimes just listening properly to understand the root issue.
My treatment isn’t just “take this med n come back later”. I believe in customizing each plan—some need meds, some need lifestyle fixes, some need both. And sometimes, just having regular follow-up convos can change the whole progress curve. I also pay attention to communication, like really explaining stuff. Many people come scared or embarrassed, I try to make it all normal. Cos, well it is. These are medical concerns, not moral ones.
Over time I've come to see that results improve when patients feel like they're being seen, not judged. I think that’s what makes a real diffrence in the outcome—not just protocols but the full experience. |
Achievements: | I am pretty invested in research honestly—kinda feel it's where real change starts. I’ve got a few publications out there in international journals, mostly around infertility n reproductive health stuff, and yah, some of them even got cited which is cool. Doesn’t just end on paper tho—I was lucky to be invited for WHO’s global consultation thing on infertility guidelines. That one really meant alot to me… felt like what I’d studied n practiced actually mattered beyond just my own clinic. |
I am working in the field of Sexual Medicine & Male Infertility for 40+ years now, and honestly it’s still a space that’s not talked about enough. Whether it’s a man dealing with ED or a woman struggling with hormonal ups & downs, I try to look at the whole picture. Not just symptoms. Like, what’s actually causing it and what can we do that’ll actually work long-term—not just patch things up for a moment. I deal a lot with male infertility issues like low sperm count, poor motility, hormonal issues, you name it. I try to not just run tests but also explain what's happening in simple terms. ED and premature ejaculation are common but man, the mental impact is huge! I work on those cases from all angles—medical, lifestyle, even psychosexual support if needed. Anejaculation’s another one people don’t talk about much, but yeah, I've handled several of those too. On the women’s side—there’s PCOS, ovulatory issues, arousal disorders, painful intercourse. These aren't easy to talk about but once patients open up, they want real answers, not vague promises. Sometimes it’s hormonal, sometimes past trauma, and sometimes just no one ever asked them the right questions. I try to make that space for them. My approach blends detailed diagnostics with tailored plans that might include meds, hormone regulation, or even just fixing sleep, stress & diet patterns that mess up the whole system. I believe sexual health isn’t separate from general health, and treating it that way—holistically—is where things actually shift. I work with both men & women, often couples too. What really matters to me is getting people past shame and confusion and into solutions that stick. And yeah sometimes that just starts with a really honest conversation.
