Area of specialization: | I am a general medicine doc who kinda ended up taking a wide route—like I’m usually handling stuff from diabetes to gut troubles to infections that show up outta nowhere. Most days start w/ something basic like fever or throat, but then there’s also folks walkin in with BP spikes or sudden stomach pain that’s been bugging them for weeks. I actually enjoy that mix, keeps me sharp and on my toes u kno?
What I really try to focus on tho, is figuring out what’s behind those symptoms. Like sure, coughs and sugar levels need meds, but why’s it happenin again? Is their sleep messed up? Are they stressed all the time or eatin trash every other night? That’s where things get interesting. I usually spend a lil extra time helping people spot those patterns. Small lifestyle shifts often do more than pills alone ever can.
Preventive care is a big part of what I believe in. Rather than reacting to things too late, I push for early checks, screenings, talking openly about risk factors—especially with lifestyle conditions like cholesterol, hypertension n’ stuff that creeps up slowly. I also go for a pretty tailored approach. Like 2 ppl with same sugar levels might need totally diff plans depending on their routines, diets, family history... all that.
And yeah, communication matters. No jargon, just plain talk—ppl should know what’s going on in their body, not guess it. If someone walks out feeling clearer & confident about their health, that feels like a win already even before the reports change.
Managing long-term care needs patience but that’s fine by me. Helping someone avoid hospital visits later by guiding them right today? That’s kinda the whole point of being in medicine for me tbh. |
Achievements: | I am kind of that doctor who’s grown into general medicine through a lot of hands-on real life stuff, not just books or protocols y’know? I’ve got solid grip now on things like handling fevers, gut issues, uncontrolled BP cases or ppl with long-standing diabetes that just won’t settle. I started out doubting if I’d be able to manage such wide range stuff alone but turns out with time, you just... figure it out??
Over time I got more confident treating those common-but-tricky combos—like someone shows up with fatigue, but behind that it’s anemia and thyroid and poor sleep—nothing’s simple really. What I’m kinda proud of is that I’ve learnt how to not rush to label a diagnosis. I listen properly, check details, do what’s needed before saying “ok here’s what I think we’re dealing with”.
One big achievement for me personally is just becoming someone patients actually come back to. That trust, where they say “doc jo aapne pichli baar diya tha na… better lagg gaya” — means the world really. It’s not flashy or huge, but feels right.
I’ve built my way into evidence-based practice, like I try not to overtreat or panic people but still stay alert, cautious when things feel off. And yeah, I’m deeply into long-term care planning too. Whether it’s BP, asthma or sugar – I don’t just stop at giving meds… I keep thinking: how’s their life gonna look in 5 yrs? What habits need tweaking now?
Just seeing someone stabilize, or avoid complications, or even smile after months of struggling—that’s the kinda thing that makes me wanna keep going. |
