Dr. Niharika Shalini
Experience: | 4 years |
Education: | Rajiv Gandhi University Of Health Sciences |
Academic degree: | MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery) |
Area of specialization: | I am mainly focused on general medicine, where my role is to diagnose and manage a broad range of medical conditions, from simple infections to long standing chronic cases. Over the years I got comfortable handling patients of diff age groups, each with unique needs, and I try to give care that feels personal not just clinical. For me patient-centered care means listening carefully, adjusting treatment to what is practical for them, and also guiding their family whenever needed.
I spend a good part of my time not only prescribing but also educating patients about why prevention matter—like how lifestyle, diet and follow ups can actually reduce complications more than any pill alone. Whether it is explaining blood pressure control, diabetes monitoring or small daily habits, I see health education as equal part of treatment.
Collaboration with other healthcare staff is another area I value. Working closely with nurses, lab teams, and specialists makes sure that care stays smooth and no detail is missed. In a busy hospital setting coordination can be tricky, but it always pays off in better outcomes.
My approach is simple: treat the illness but also look at the whole person, their environment, stress levels, and long term wellness. This balance between immediate treatment and preventive guidance helps me support patients not just in getting better, but in staying healthier for future too. |
Achievements: | I am working as a medical officer for 4 yrs where I handled patients with very diff needs and condition. I carried out detailed examinations, looking not just at present symptoms but also their medical history to understand the whole picture. My work involved diagnosing illnesses, preparing individualised treatment plans and making sure the approach was both safe and effective.
I also managed the practical part of care like prescribing medicines, suggesting therapies and monitoring how patients responded over time. Sometimes treatment plans needed small or big changes, and adapting them was part of ensuring proper recovery. This constant follow up help me see how much progress patients could make when care was tailored right.
For me, achievements are not only the number of cases handled but the ability to provide quality treatment in real life hospital settings where every patient story is unique, and that responsibility still guide my practice today. |
I am a general physician with about 4 yrs of clinical experience, mostly working as a medical officer in diff medical setups. In this time I learnt that every patient story is unique, no two fevers or coughs or chronic conditions behave in exactly the same way, and that push me to design treatment plans that are truly individual not just formula. Some days the work feels heavy, moving from emergency cases to routine checkups, yet I try to stay grounded in the basics—listening carefully, explaining clearly, and keeping the patient’s comfort as priority. Working across various settings taught me adaptability. One place had limited resources, so I had to depend more on clinical skill than tests, while another offered advanced diagnostic tools that needed me to stay sharp with reports and interpretations. In both, the goal was the same—to deliver timely accurate care and help patients recover faster. I handle a wide range of cases from infections, chronic illnesses like hypertension or diabetes, minor injuries, preventive health, and day to day complaints that affect quality of life. I also enjoy the process of counseling patients, explaining why a certain medicine is needed, or how lifestyle changes matter as much as prescriptions. Sometimes that conversation takes longer than the exam itself, but in my experience those talks prevent relapses and build trust. Over the years I got better at connecting dots between symptoms, choosing which investigations are really necessary, and balancing clinical judgment with available evidence. I see myself not just as someone who treats sickness but as a physician who supports people in staying healthier over the long run. Whether it is managing seasonal outbreaks, guiding families about preventive vaccines, or supporting a patient with a chronic disease, I try to combine a compassionate approach with practical solutions. And even after 4 yrs in practice I feel there’s so much more to learn each day, and that curiosity keep me going.
