Doctors’ responses

It seems like you’re describing a pattern of excessive worrying and difficulty managing racing thoughts, which can significantly impact your sleep, appetite, and overall well-being. What you’re experiencing could be part of an anxiety disorder, but it’s important to properly evaluate this through a consultation with a healthcare professional. Overthinking or rumination is common in anxiety and can lead to physical symptoms like headaches and disruptions in sleep and eating patterns, which might explain your weight loss. It is crucial first to address the root cause of these symptoms. Identifying and modifying any current stressors, while enhancing coping strategies, can be beneficial. You could also seek guidance through cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), a well-rounded method designed to manage and reduce anxiety by modifying negative thought patterns. Regular physical activities like walking or swimming and relaxation techniques, including deep breathing and meditation, should be included in your daily routine as they can improve mood and relieve stress. Sleep hygiene practices, such as maintaining a consistent bedtime, avoiding caffeine before bed, and reducing screen time in the evening, are vital for restoring healthy sleep patterns. Lastly, consider reaching out to a mental health professional who can provide further evaluation and possibly prescribe medications or develop a comprehensive treatment plan if necessary. If feelings become overwhelming or if there are thoughts of self-harm, it’s crucial to seek immediate care from a medical professional or contact emergency services for support.
