small pimples in forehead - #20787
I am super worried about these small pimples in forehead that have been popping up. It started a couple weeks ago, and at first I thought maybe it was just a reaction to some new hair product I was using, but now I'm not so sure. There’s like a cluster of these small pimples in forehead, they’re tiny but noticeable and sometimes itch a bit. I tried washing my face more and even switched to a gentler cleanser, but it doesn't seem to be helping. And now, I’ve also noticed a few of these small pimples in forehead becoming redder. It’s kinda making me self-conscious, especially since I have a wedding to attend next month! I've been stressed out too with work and everything, could that be a factor? I’m also wondering if it might be some kind of allergic reaction or even hormonal issue? With the small pimples in forehead being so persistent, I’ve also thought about maybe seeing a dermatologist but I wanted to check if anyone else has had this and what their experience was. Am I overreacting or should I take this seriously? Just feeling a bit lost on what to do next!

Doctors' responses
From what you’ve described about the small pimples on your forehead, there could be a few different factors at play here. The forehead is part of the T-zone, which can be more prone to oiliness and breakouts. It’s possible that the new hair product might have contributed to clogging your pores, so discontinuing that product was a good first step. Stress and hormonal changes can definitely impact your skin too, as both can trigger increased oil production and inflammation, leading to acne flare-ups. Since the pimples are becoming redder and more persistent, it’s reasonable to consider several factors: excessive oil production, buildup of dead skin cells, bacteria, or potentially a minor skin condition. Switching to a gentler cleanser was a good move; keep using it twice a day. However, avoid over-washing, which can actually irritate the skin and worsen acne. Be sure to moisturize with a non-comedogenic product to maintain your skin’s barrier, which is crucial for healing. You could try over-the-counter treatments containing benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid, which help reduce inflammation and unclog pores. If these pimples in your forehead remain persistent or worsen, especially with the upcoming event, it might indeed be wise to consult a dermatologist. They can provide a definitive diagnosis and might propose treatments like topical retinoids or other prescription options. Given you have a wedding next month, addressing the issue sooner rather than later is best. Meanwhile, try to reduce stress through techniques like mindfulness or regular physical activity, since stress can exacerbate breakouts. Also, consider documenting your diet or recent changes; something unusual in your diet could contribute even slightly, though most likely isn’t a primary cause. With the described symptoms, you’re not overreacting considering its impact on your self-esteem, so taking steps to manage it is reasonable and practically necessary.
