I have continuous acne and its not going - #10513
Its like i have oily skin and i use one adapt gel before sleep but that gets my skin very dry and i start getting skin flakes as well if i use that adapt gel daily. Also i change my pillow cases within 3-4 days and i also keep washing my scalp in 4-5 days as it gets oily by 4 -5 days. I have acne on my jaws as well and sometimes i have acne breakouts as well in my lower cheeks and side of lips near chin and below nostrils and also in eyebrows as well. Is the problem my diet or sleep or hormones or stress? (I do sleep late at night) How can i minimize acne and keep my face skin healthy. And these dayss my skin is getting extra oily like I wash my face with face soap and it still get very oily even when i dont use any lotions specially in nose areas and forehead area. Also im drinking enough water i guess And also in my back there are like im not sure if its acne but it itches not excessive but sometimes it itches

Doctors’ responses
When it comes to acne, it indeed can be influenced by a combination of factors like hormones, stress, diet, and lifestyle. In your case, using adapalene gel (which I’m guessing you mean by “adapt gel”) could dry out your skin, causing those flakes. Consider using a gentle, non-comedogenic moisturizer to help balance that dryness. Despite using adapalene, if the flaking persists, you might use it less frequently—perhaps every other night—until your skin builds tolerance. Avoid over-cleansing your face since that can strip away natural oils and trigger more oil production. Switching to a gentle cleanser, specifically formulated for oily or acne-prone skin, may help curb oiliness without the harsh effects. As for lifestyle, managing stress, improving sleep patterns (try to get consistent, adequate sleep), and avoiding late-night routines can positively impact your skin’s health. Examine your diet too: some people notice improvements by limiting dairy or high-glycemic-index foods. Make sure you’re getting a balanced diet, rich in fruits and vegetables. Hormonal changes especially around the jaw and chin often cause acne, so seeing a dermatologist might give insights into treatment. For back acne that itches, gentle exfoliating with a loofah and using salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide body wash could help, but be cautious of over-irritating the skin. Ensure you’re not allergic or sensitive to any fabrics or laundry detergents that could also contribute. And as always, staying hydrated is essential, even if you’re already doing it. If these suggestions don’t help, or if you find your skin getting worse, it’s best to consult a dermatologist who can advise more tailored treatments or medications.
