which is the best cream for removing pimples - #14561

Shivansh

I am really struggling with acne right now and it's super frustrating. I had clear skin all through high school, but ever since I started college, it's like my face decided to revolt against me. My friends keep telling me not to stress about it but easier said than done right? Anyway, I've tried a couple over-the-counter products but they just don’t seem to work! One of my friends recommended this natural stuff they swear by, but I’m kinda skeptical. I've read a bit about different creams and treatments, but it becomes confusing. which is the best cream for removing pimples? I mean, I don’t wanna waste my money on something that just doesn’t do anything, and I would love to hear other people’s experiences. Some people say that benzoyl peroxide works wonders, but others talk about salicylic acid too? Ugh, and then you have those with tea tree oil. I’m in need of some clear skin here, like, yesterday! Does anyone have success stories or recommendations for a cream that really helps with pimples? I would need something that doesn’t dry out my skin too since I already have combo skin, which is like a whole other level of annoying! Thanks in advance for helping a girl out!

Doctors’ responses

When selecting a cream to tackle pimples, it’s important to consider your skin type and any sensitivity issues. A widely effective ingredient is benzoyl peroxide, which works by reducing the bacteria responsible for acne. Products with 2.5% to 5% benzoyl peroxide can be effective without causing too much irritation. Its downside, however, can include dryness and sensitivity, so using a gentle moisturizer alongside it may be necessary. Salicylic acid is another popular choice, especially if you have combination skin. It helps by exfoliating the skin and clearing clogged pores, making it beneficial for both oily and drier skin areas. Look for formulations with about 0.5% to 2% salicylic acid to start. If your skin tends to be sensitive, you might want to start with lower concentrations to see how your skin responds. On the more natural side, tea tree oil has been shown to have antimicrobial properties. It’s available in various formulations, but the concentration should be around 5% for effectiveness. Though it might sound appealing, natural products can sometimes cause irritation, so test a small area first. No matter which you choose, consistency is key, and it may take several weeks to see significant improvement. If over-the-counter options aren’t working after consistent use, it might be time to consult a dermatologist who can offer prescription-strength solutions or explore other conditions that might be contributing to your acne. Being patient while finding the right product can be tough, but taking these steps should guide you closer to clearer skin.
