pimple and black spots removal cream - #19080

Rudra

I am really worried about my skin lately. I've tried everything for these annoying pimples! It's like they keep popping up, and on top of that, I now have these dark black spots where the pimples used to be. Ugh! One day I woke up and there was this huge pimple right on my cheek, I thought it was a joke. I picked it (yeah, I know, bad move) and now I have this dark spot that's just getting even darker. I’ve been looking for a good pimple and black spots removal cream because nothing else seems to work for me. I even went to a dermatologist a few weeks ago, and they suggested some over-the-counter stuff but it was just meh... I can't even show my face without some foundation, which is getting annoying. Has anyone found a pimple and black spots removal cream that actually does what it says? Do any of u have personal experience with results? I feel kinda lost here, like every other product just makes my skin worse. Are there specific ingredients I should be looking for in a pimple and black spots removal cream? If anyone could share their successes (or fails), I’d really appreciate it. Should I just keep trying different creams or is there something more effective? I don’t want to end up with more spots than I started with!

Doctors' responses

When you’re dealing with persistent pimples and the dark spots they leave behind (often referred to as post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation), it’s understandable to feel frustrated. In terms of over-the-counter treatments, you want to look for products containing active ingredients like benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid. These are great for targeting the cause of breakouts—excess oil and bacteria, and they function as exfoliants to support cell turnover. However, benzoyl peroxide can be drying, so using it sparingly or opting for formulations with a lower percentage might be wise if your skin is sensitive. For those dark spots, ingredients like niacinamide, glycolic acid, and vitamin C can be quite beneficial. Niacinamide reduces inflammation and prevents new pimples from forming, while glycolic acid, an alpha hydroxy acid, gently exfoliates to remove damaged, pigmented skin layers. Vitamin C is an antioxidant that can brighten the skin’s overall appearance and fade dark spots with time. It’s important, though, to introduce these slowly to see how your skin reacts, as combining too many actives at once may lead to irritation. Consider layering moisturizing skincare products after applying treatments to maintain skin hydration and barrier function. If you feel your over-the-counter options were underwhelming, it might be practical to revisit your dermatologist. They can prescribe more potent medications like topical retinoids or suggest treatments such as chemical peels or laser therapy, depending on your skin type and the severity of your condition. Always use sunscreen daily, especially when using treatments that make your skin more sensitive to UV rays, as it prevents further hyperpigmentation. If you’re uncertain about trying new products repeatedly, directly consulting a professional can save the trial-and-error stage and steer you toward a solution that’s specifically tailored to your skin needs.
