Dr. Bharat Joshi
I’m a periodontist and academician with a strong clinical and teaching background. Over the last 4 years and 8 months, I’ve been actively involved in dental education, guiding students at multiple levels including dental hygienist, BDS, and MDS programs. Currently, I serve as a Reader at MMCDSR in Ambala, Haryana—a role that allows me to merge my academic passion with hands-on experience. Clinically, I’ve been practicing dentistry for the past 12 years. From routine procedures like scaling and root planing to more advanced cases involving grafts, biopsies, and implant surgeries. Honestly, I still find joy in doing a simple RCT when it’s needed. It’s not just about the procedure but making sure the patient feels comfortable and safe. Academically, I have 26 research publications to my credit. I’m on the editorial boards of the Archives of Dental Research and Journal of Dental Research and Oral Health, and I’ve spent a lot of time reviewing manuscripts—from case reports to meta-analyses and even book reviews. I was honored to receive the “Best Editor” award by Innovative Publications, and Athena Publications recognized me as an “excellent reviewer,” which honestly came as a bit of a surprise! In 2025, I had the opportunity to present a guest lecture in Italy on traumatic oral lesions. Sharing my work and learning from peers globally has been incredibly fulfilling. Outside academics and clinics, I’ve also worked in the pharmaceutical sector as a Drug Safety Associate for about 3 years, focusing on pharmacovigilance. That role really sharpened my attention to detail and deepened my understanding of drug interactions and adverse effects. My goal is to keep learning, and give every patient and student my absolute best.

If you are feeling like hurting yourself or having thoughts about wanting to die, it’s really crucial to seek immediate help from healthcare professionals. This is a serious situation that requires urgent attention. Contact emergency services or a crisis hotline in your area right away. You’re not alone in this, and there are trained professionals who can support you through these intense emotions and pain. In the meantime, it may be helpful to focus on small steps around managing anxiety and depression. First, consider if there’s someone you trust who can be with you, whether a family member or a friend, just having someone around might help you feel less alone. Additionally, try engaging in some grounding techniques, which might offer temporary relief. Simple actions like focusing on your breath — calmly inhaling and exhaling or identifying five things you can see, four you can touch, three you can hear, two you can smell, and one you can taste — sometimes can help shift focus away from overwhelming thoughts. It’s important to talk to a healthcare provider about this ongoing pain you’re feeling; they’ll be able to assess and offer a range of therapeutic or pharmaceutical options, such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) or antidepressants. Medication and therapy combined have shown effectiveness in treating both anxiety and depression, though professional guidance is essential for safe and suitable treatment. Additionally, try to maintain a regular routine with adequate sleep, balanced nutrition, and some form of physical activity, even if it’s just a short daily walk. While this isn’t a substitute for professional help, a structured routine can sometimes contribute positively to mental health. Remember, obtaining a proper medical evaluation and creating a treatment plan with a specialist is key. Your safety and well-being should be prioritized, so don’t wait to reach out to experts who can provide the immediatte aid and ongoing support you need.
