how can i clean my face naturally - #19235

Sara

I am really struggling with my skin lately! I thought I was doing everything right, but I still keep getting breakouts and my skin looks dull. I’ve been using all these store-bought cleansers but they seem to irritate my skin more. Like, I've tried one for sensitive skin, and yes, it was nice and gentle at first, but after a couple of weeks, it just didn’t feel good anymore! I’ve heard that natural routines might be better, and now I’m wondering, how can I clean my face naturally? I mean, should I be making my own products or just using things from my kitchen? What about honey or coconut oil? I've read stuff online, but it all sounds so overwhelming and some tips even contradict each other. Like, I’m confused if I should use oils or not since my skin is kinda oily already but also kind of dry in spots... It’s all a mess honestly. I just want to find a simple way to really clean my face naturally without all these weird chemicals. Any advice or personal tips?? I just want my skin to feel fresh and look healthy without breaking out all the time!

Cleaning your face naturally can definitely be a good way to manage skin that feels reactive to conventional products. One approach to consider is the oil cleansing method, which might seem a bit counterintuitive if you have oily skin, but it can actually help balance oil production. You could start by trying a blend of castor oil (about a third) and a lighter oil like jojoba or grapeseed oil (about two thirds). These oils tend to be non-comedogenic, meaning they won’t clog pores, an important factor when dealing with acne-prone skin. Just massage this mixture onto your dry face and then gently remove it with a warm, damp washcloth. This helps to dissolve makeup and impurities while still being gentle. Honey is another natural option that works well for its antibacterial properties and its ability to retain moisture. Raw, unpasteurized honey can be massaged onto a damp face, left for a few minutes like a mask, then rinsed off with lukewarm water. Be cautious with coconut oil as it can be comedogenic, attributing to clogged pores and breakouts for some people. Combining a few drops of tea tree oil with your oil cleansing mix (not directly on the skin) can offer additional antibacterial benefits. When considering these options, it’s usually best to patch-test them on a small area of skin to ensure you’re not reactive to any particular ingredient. Consistency is key, along with being gentle, so avoid harsh exfoliants or aggressive scrubbing. Remember to moisturize after cleansing; using natural moisturizers like aloe vera gel can soothe and hydrate without the heavy feel. Drinking plenty of water and eating a balanced diet full of fruits and vegetables supports healthy skin from the inside out too. If breakouts persist or worsen, it could be useful to consult a dermatologist to rule out conditions like hormonal acne or other underlying skin issues.
