Using a face wash with salicylic acid and niacinamide is a solid start for managing acne, particularly for oily skin. Salicylic acid helps exfoliate the skin and unclog pores, while niacinamide can reduce inflammation and redness. It’s generally recommended to use such products consistently, but be sure not to overuse them as they can sometimes dry out your skin, leading to more oil production. Applying a small amount twice a day is usually sufficient. As for the aloe vera gel you’re using at night, it’s typically soothing and can help with redness and irritation. However, some of the additional components like kesar and chandan may not be ideal for everyone, as they could potentially irritate sensitive skin or cause allergies. Make sure your skin doesn’t react poorly to these ingredients. While you’re tackling your acne with topical products, keep an eye on other contributing factors. Your diet can play a role, so aim for a balanced intake of fruits, vegetables, and whole grains, while cutting down on sugary and high-fat foods. Staying hydrated and managing stress are crucial, although these lifestyle changes alone won’t resolve acne. If your current routine doesn’t improve your acne after a few weeks or if it worsens, you might want to consult a dermatologist. They could consider prescribing topical retinoids, antibiotics, or other treatments like benzoyl peroxide, which can be very effective. Make sure to avoid picking or squeezing your pimples, as it can lead to scarring. Also, ensure you use non-comedogenic sunscreen during the day to protect your skin if you’re using products that increase sensitivity to sunlight. Remember to follow any product instructions carefully, and keep your skin’s individual response in mind when making changes to your routine.
