How to lighten chicken pox scars - #10357
Hello I had chickenpox about a month ago. A skin specialist had recommended Dusklyte Neo cream for the marks, and I’ve been using it for the past few weeks. However, I haven’t noticed much improvement so far. Could you please advise whether I should continue with Dusklyte Neo or consider a different treatment to help lighten the scars.

The fading of chicken pox scars can be a bit slow, and what you’re experiencing isn’t unusual. Continuing with Dusklyte Neo for a few more weeks might be reasonable, as some skincare products can take several weeks to months to show noticeable changes. But let’s also consider adding other strategies. Using a high-SPF broad-spectrum sunscreen regularly on the exposed scars can be quite beneficial because UV exposure can darken scars and make them more pronounced. Keeping the skin moisturized is also key, so if you’re not doing this, consider using a gentle moisturizer as this might support the skin’s healing process. Additionally, products with ingredients like vitamin C, niacinamide, or alpha hydroxy acids can also aid in lightening hyperpigmentation and improving overall skin texture. If you’ve been consistent with your current treatment for several more weeks and still aren’t seeing an improvement, you might want to engage with your skin specialist again to explore options like chemical peels or laser therapy. Keep in mind, patience is crucial when it comes to skin healing, especially with post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. Moreover, if you face any irritation or other skin issues while trying new treatments, it’s best to discontinue and consult your doctor. Also, ensure any treatment you pursue fits well with your daily lifestyle and doesn’t cause additional stress or inconvenience. Keep track of any changes you notice, these observations can be very helpful during follow-ups with your healthcare provider.
