I have a alot of grey hair and I'm facing Hair breakage and hair fall - #10501

Yashasvi

I'm facing hairfall since last year's monsoon season. I had very very thick hair but now my hair are very thin as compared to before because of alot of hairfall and breakage. I don't even feel like detangling my hair because every time i comb i hear the sound of my hair breaking. I face a lot of dandruff too that's why i don't usually apply oil much. Please suggest me what should i apply on my hair to get back the old density of my hair

Hair fall and breakage, along with dandruff, can be frustrating and sometimes related. A holistic approach often works best, especially since hair health can be influenced by both external treatments and internal factors. First, consider addressing dandruff, as it may contribute to hair fall. Over-the-counter medicated shampoos containing ketoconazole or selenium sulfide can help manage dandruff effectively. Use these shampoos regularly, about two to three times a week, and follow the instructions for maximum effectiveness. If the problem persists beyond two weeks, it would be wise to consult with a dermatologist as you could have an underlying scalp condition needing intervention. Although you avoid oil due to dandruff, consider a lightweight, non-comedogenic oil, like argan oil, applied sparingly to the hair ends to reduce breakage. On the nutritional front, deficiencies in vitamins and minerals can affect hair density. Ensure you’re consuming a balanced diet rich in proteins, vitamins (particularly biotin, vitamin D), and minerals like iron and zinc. Supplements may be necessary, so discussing with a healthcare provider for tailored advice would be beneficial. Hair health can also be influenced by hormonal changes, stress, or a recent illness, and while not always easy to control, recognizing these factors can guide more practical interventions. Regular gentle handling of hair is crucial; switch to wide-toothed combs and avoid excessive heat styling or chemical treatments. Beyond the physical aspect, ensuring you’re managing stress through mindfulness, exercise or lifestyle adjustments can positively influence hair growth over time. If you notice no improvement or if hair loss continues to worsen, a further evaluation could be needed to rule out underlying medical conditions such as thyroid issues or alopecia.
