I have tried allopathic medicines , homoeopathic medicines for so long. I am suffering from this problem for two years. I have taken allopathic medicines for one and half year( several discontinuation in between) and now for past six months ,I am trying homoeopathic treatment. Dandruff over my scalp is now under control but my eyebrows and eyelashes are shadding continuously (about 5-6 hairs a day). I am very demotivated and upset with this. Please help me to cure this.

Doctors’ responses
Seborrheic dermatitis causing hair loss, especially around the eyebrows and eyelashes, can be particularly frustrating. First, consider seeing a dermatologist, if you haven’t already. They can assess whether there’s any underlying condition contributing to hair loss, such as alopecia or an infection, that may require different treatment. For the seborrheic dermatitis itself, consistent treatment focused on reducing inflammation and yeast/fungal overgrowth is key. Topical antifungals like ketoconazole cream can be effective for facial areas, and sometimes corticosteroid creams can help reduce inflammation—but they’re typically used cautiously and short-term to avoid thinning the skin, especially near the eyes. Since you’ve mentioned that your current treatments haven’t been satisfactory, persistency may be important alongside trying new options. Avoid any skincare products with alcohol or other irritants, as this could worsen dermatitis. Gentle eye cleaners or baby shampoo might be useful for cleansing the eyelids and brows without irritation. Dietary changes or supplements may help in some cases, though evidence is mixed; some people have found relief by managing their intake of sugar and yeast-promoting foods. Supplements like biotin or omega-3 fatty acids have been discussed for overall skin and hair health, though you should consider discussing any new dietary approaches or supplements with a healthcare provider. Increasing the humidity in your living space during dry seasons could also alleviate some symptoms. Remember, since any treatment can have additional effects, it’s crucial to monitor how your skin reacts and adjust accordingly. If you notice any signs of infection or if symptoms continue to worsen, seeking professional advice promptly might be necessary.
