Doctors’ responses

Dandruff, acne, and oily scalp can often be interlinked, notably when there’s an underlying scalp condition like seborrheic dermatitis or a hormonal imbalance that’s driving oil production. The Ketoscore shampoo you’re using is a good start for dandruff since it contains ketoconazole, an antifungal that can help reduce the yeast causing dandruff. Use it as per instructions, usually 2-3 times weekly, allowing the shampoo to sit on your scalp for 5 minutes before rinsing. If it’s not effective, see a dermatologist for an alternative anti-dandruff treatment. For oily hair despite not using oil, ensure a daily gentle shampoo, which is sulfate-free, to manage excess sebum. Regarding acne, keracylic ointment, likely containing salicylic acid, can help unclog pores. But, if pimples persist, consider adding a gentle facial cleanser containing benzoyl peroxide or adapalene gel to your routine. Acne associated with hair fall might suggest a hormonal influence; sometimes indications like polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) are involved can manifest similarly. Hair fall can stem from numerous causes, from nutritional deficiencies to stress or possible inflammatory scalp conditions. Ensure a balanced diet rich in vitamins such as Biotin and Zinc, which can support hair health. If hair loss is significant, consider a consultation with a healthcare provider to evaluate for any underlying hormonal imbalances. Stress management, regular physical activity, and adequate hydration shape an integral part of overall skin and hair health. In serious or severe cases, professional medical evaluation is crucial to tailor the most effective treatment for your specific needs. Avoid touching your face frequently to prevent acne exacerbation, and let hair products not spill onto your face as they might trigger breakouts.
