Hi Hasini,
I understand how frustrating premature greying can be, especially at your age. It’s completely normal to feel this way. Let’s approach this gently: First, don’t panic. Early greying it’s often genetic, but stress, diet (like low B12/iron), thyroid issues, or even harsh hair treatments can contribute. Since homeopathy/colours haven’t helped, we’ll focus on root causes:

1.Get blood tests done, Check vitamin levels (B12, D, ferritin) and thyroid function. Simple deficiencies can be corrected!
2.Nourish from within, Eat iron-rich greens, eggs, nuts, and berries. Stay hydrated! 3.Be kind to your hair: Avoid heat styling, switch to gentle sulfate-free shampoo, and use a silk pillowcase. While we can’t reverse greys fully yet, these steps can slow new ones and boost hair health. If tests show imbalances, we’ll treat those together. You’re not alone, many young women face this. Let’s start simple.

Warmly.

Premature graying at your age may be due to genetic factors, nutritional deficiencies (like B12, copper), or oxidative stress, and homeopathy or hair colors won’t stop the root cause. Early intervention with topical treatments like melanin-boosting serums and nutritional support may help slow progression. Consult a dermatologist or trichologist to evaluate underlying causes and start targeted treatment.

Premature graying of hair, particularly at 23, can be concerning and may have several underlying causes. While genetics plays a significant role, deficiencies, lifestyle factors and certain underlying health conditions can also be contributors. To address premature greying, start by ensuring optimal nutrition with a balanced diet rich in key vitamins and minerals. Include foods high in Vitamin B12, Vitamin D, iron, copper, and other B-vitamins, which are crucial for hair pigmentation. A healthcare provider might suggest blood tests to check for deficiencies in these areas. If identified, dietary changes or supplements can be discussed. Stress management is another important factor. Chronic stress can accelerate gray hair, so incorporating relaxation techniques such as meditation, yoga, or regular physical activity could be beneficial. Smoking cessation is also advisable if applicable, as smoking has been linked to premature graying. Additionally, avoid harsh chemicals or heat treatments that could damage hair structurally. Using mild, sulfate-free shampoos or natural oils might help maintain healthy hair. There’s no guaranteed medical treatment to reverse hair greying, but in cases of deficiencies or conditions like thyroid imbalances, addressing the root cause can sometimes help mitigate further graying. Consulting a dermatologist could provide more personalized advice. While hair dyes and coloring are common, they don’t stop the underlying process and, if you’re seeking natural options, henna may work as it’s less damaging. When choosing to dye, always follow with good quality hair care. However, do remember it’s essential to acknowledge hair greying is a natural process and focusing on maintaining overall health is the best long-term strategy.
