Doctors’ responses
Hello dear See as per clinical history your mother seems to have both acidity as well as some other metabolic disorder I doubt as per her height the weight seems quite high hinting towards either hypothyroidism or fatty liver So i suggest you instead taking just medications for relief, Please first get tests done for confirmation of diagnosis and best treatment Serum TSH Serum cholesterol RBS Serum ferritin Rft Lft Serum troponin ECG of recommended by gastroenterologist Lft Rft Esr HbA1c Please get these tests done and share reports with general physician or gastroenterologist Please take any medications after confirmation from concerned physician only Hopefully your mother gets permanent relief Regards
1. Sudden severe gastric pain with vomiting after meals suggests more than routine acidity.
2. It could be due to gastritis, reflux, or gallbladder related issues.
3. Since pain is frequent and needs painkillers, further evaluation is important.
4. Recommended tests: abdominal ultrasound and endoscopy.
5. Till then, small light meals and regular antacid medicines may help please consult a gastroenterologist soon.

To address your mother’s gastric issues and severe symptoms, a detailed evaluation is essential. Her symptoms of sudden vomiting, pain, and difficulty with digestion, alongside her noticeable weight and height, point towards a range of possibilities like gastritis, peptic ulcers, gallstones, or even more complex conditions such as gastroparesis. Given that her symptoms can be severe and appear suddenly, it’s crucial to identify potential triggers, like specific foods, stress, or medications. Foods she struggles with, such as lentils, cabbage, and besan flour, can indeed be challenging for some people to digest. I’d recommend having her eat smaller, more frequent meals to aid digestion and avoid large meals that can put a strain on her digestive system. Well-cooked and easy-to-digest foods, perhaps bland items like rice, bananas, applesauce, and toast, could help ease these symptoms. Painkillers, particularly NSAIDs, might aggravate the stomach lining, potentially worsening her condition. It’s very important that she talks to a doctor about alternatives for pain relief. Additionally, since there is a loss of appetite and delayed digestion, consulting a healthcare professional for further investigation is critical. This might include endoscopy, ultrasound, or other diagnostics to rule out serious concerns. Fluid intake is also very important to prevent dehydration from vomiting. If her condition worsens, becomes more frequent, or is accompanied by unexplained weight loss, jaundice, or severe abdominal pain, seek immediate medical advice. Her symptoms need prompt attention to avoid complications and find a firm diagnosis and treatment strategy tailored to her needs.
