Doctors’ responses

Dr. Bharat Joshi
I’m a periodontist and academician with a strong clinical and teaching background. Over the last 4 years and 8 months, I’ve been actively involved in dental education, guiding students at multiple levels including dental hygienist, BDS, and MDS programs. Currently, I serve as a Reader at MMCDSR in Ambala, Haryana—a role that allows me to merge my academic passion with hands-on experience. Clinically, I’ve been practicing dentistry for the past 12 years. From routine procedures like scaling and root planing to more advanced cases involving grafts, biopsies, and implant surgeries. Honestly, I still find joy in doing a simple RCT when it’s needed. It’s not just about the procedure but making sure the patient feels comfortable and safe. Academically, I have 26 research publications to my credit. I’m on the editorial boards of the Archives of Dental Research and Journal of Dental Research and Oral Health, and I’ve spent a lot of time reviewing manuscripts—from case reports to meta-analyses and even book reviews. I was honored to receive the “Best Editor” award by Innovative Publications, and Athena Publications recognized me as an “excellent reviewer,” which honestly came as a bit of a surprise! In 2025, I had the opportunity to present a guest lecture in Italy on traumatic oral lesions. Sharing my work and learning from peers globally has been incredibly fulfilling. Outside academics and clinics, I’ve also worked in the pharmaceutical sector as a Drug Safety Associate for about 3 years, focusing on pharmacovigilance. That role really sharpened my attention to detail and deepened my understanding of drug interactions and adverse effects. My goal is to keep learning, and give every patient and student my absolute best.

I think it is not a problem but overthinking can cause excess stress Please follow below instructions for improvement Do meditation Avoid stress by engaging in social activities Do physical exercises for atleast half an hour If possible have bronk walk daily for 15minute Indulge in hobbies for mental health Avoid alcohol or smoking These things will bring self confidence and provide you best relief. In case of no improvement consult psychiatrist in person for better clarification Regards

Overthinking and anxiety often stem from repetitive worry and difficulty in letting go of negative thoughts. This can be worsened by feeling uncertain or unsatisfied with the information you find. First, it’s important to recognize when you’re overthinking. Catching yourself in the act can be a strong first step to overcoming it. Next, try structured reflection. Set aside a specific amount of time each day—maybe ten to fifteen minutes—to really dive into these thoughts. This can help keep them from consuming your entire day. After the time is up, it’s important to move on to another activity completely. In terms of struggling to find satisfactory information, try discussing your questions or concerns with a trusted friend, mentor, or a professional who might have the knowledge you need. Sometimes, a new perspective or a different way of explaining can make all the difference. Besides, practicing mindfulness and relaxation techniques such as deep breathing or meditation might also help in reducing anxiety. Aim for regular physical activity, which can also support mental health. Understand that not every question has a perfect answer and that it’s okay not to have all explanations. If overthinking and anxiety continue to affect your daily life, seeking guidance from a mental health professional can provide additional strategies and support tailored to your specific situation. If anxiety symptoms rapidly increase or you feel overwhelmed, contact a healthcare professional promptly for further evaluation and treatment. Ensure that you don’t ignore any serious or unusual symptoms that might require immediate attention. Remember, taking an active approach against overthinking not only focuses on these particular instances but in managing general mental health better over the long term.
