management of chronic liver disease - #12756
I am really struggling to understand the management of chronic liver disease and what options are available for me. A few months ago, I was diagnosed with NAFLD after a routine checkup, and honestly, I didn't even know what that meant at first. My doctor mentioned the management of chronic liver disease and recommended lifestyle changes. However, I find all this info overwhelming. My liver enzymes were slightly elevated, but I've been trying to eat better and even started exercising more. It’s tough because, like, I still feel tired all the time and sometimes have this weird discomfort in my abdomen. My cousin told me that managing chronic liver disease could involve medication or even more serious stuff, but my doctor hasn’t mentioned that yet. I keep reading online about different treatments and diets, and it’s so conflicting. Should I be asking for more tests to check my liver function or something about the management of chronic liver disease? I mean, am I doing enough? Can anyone share what I should really focus on to get a better grip on the management of chronic liver disease? I'm kind of freaking out but trying to stay hopeful, you know?
