reduce pimples on face - #12789

Aadhyant

I am super frustrated lately cause I've been trying everything to reduce pimples on face and nothing seems to work! Like, I've changed my diet, I'm drinking more water, and even tried those over-the-counter creams but still I can see these annoying breakouts. Last week, I noticed a few more popping up right before my big family event, and of course that’s when I really felt the pressure. The thing is, I don’t have a history of acne but I guess stress or maybe my hormones are acting up? It’s just weird how my skin could go from perfectly fine to this mess. My friends suggested using tea tree oil, which I gave a shot, but it only dried my skin out more instead of helping. Also, does using too much makeup make it worse? I read somewhere that sometimes products can clog pores more than we think. I just want to know what the best way to reduce pimples on face really is, maybe some advice on proper skincare routine or treatments would really help. Anyone in the same boat or have good tips? I just want my skin back to being clear and smooth, it’s such a bummer feeling self-conscious all the time!

When it comes to tackling pimples, a systematic approach usually works best. Start by simplifying your skincare routine to avoid overwhelm your skin. Use a gentle, non-comedogenic cleanser twice daily—and after sweating—to wash away dirt and oil without stripping your skin. Look for over-the-counter treatments containing benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid, both of which are scientifically backed for treating acne by unclogging pores and reducing inflammation. Tea tree oil can be beneficial, but it can indeed dry out your skin, so use it sparingly or opt for products that combine it with moisturizing agents. As for makeup, yes—heavy or oil-based cosmetics can exacerbate acne by clogging pores, so choose non-comedogenic formulas and always remove makeup before bed. It’s not uncommon for stress or hormonal fluctuations to trigger breakouts, and managing stress through techniques like exercise or meditation could also gradually clear up acne. Seeing a dermatologist might provide you a more personalized regimen or even prescribe medications such as topical antibiotics, retinoids, or hormonal treatments if appropriate. These can effectively target underlying causes rather than just symptoms. Patience is key in acne management, as it often takes 4 to 8 weeks for noticeable improvement, so consistency is crucial. Avoid frequent switching of products, as this can irritate your skin further and impede healing. If these measures don’t help or if your skin condition worsen, see a healthcare professional to look into other factors that might be contributing to your acne.
