aloe vera gel for hair overnight - #14577

Om

I am trying to find out if using aloe vera gel for hair overnight can really make a difference. A week ago, I noticed my hair started falling out more than usual, which freaked me out. I've always had thick hair, but now it feels so thin and lifeless. My best friend recommended applying aloe vera gel for hair overnight because she swears by it for her curly locks, says it helps with moisture and shine. Last night I tried it for the 1st time, slathering it on my scalp and ends, hoping to wake up with magic results but I'm kinda skeptical. Has anyone here used aloe vera gel for hair overnight?? Did u see any changes after just one use or does it take a few days to work? I’ve read that it can promote hair growth and reduce dandruff, but I’m still confused about the best way to use it. Should I rinse it out in the morning or just leave it in? My scalp felt really sticky, which I didn’t expect, does that mean I used too much? I just want my hair back to its former glory and I’m willing to try aloe vera gel for hair overnight again if you all have great tips!

Aloe vera gel can indeed be beneficial for hair, primarily due to its moisturizing and soothing properties. It’s known to help improve scalp health, reduce dandruff, and add shine to the hair. However, it’s not a magic solution and overnight results are unlikely. The benefits tend to accumulate with consistent use over time. Using it to help with hair thinning or fallout is more of a supportive measure rather than a sole treatment, as there’s no solid evidence that aloe vera can directly promote hair growth. For best results, apply aloe vera gel to the scalp and hair, leave it on overnight, and then rinse it out in the morning. It’s crucial to wash it out as it can indeed leave a sticky residue, especially if too much is used. If you find it very sticky or uncomfortable, try reducing the amount you apply next time. You can mix it with a little coconut oil or another carrier oil to make application easier. Keeping a balance is key—enough to coat the hair and scalp without overdoing it. As for your hair thinning, remember it could be due to various factors like stress, hormonal changes, nutritional deficiencies, or even a medical condition. It might be a good idea to explore potential underlying causes with a professional. If the hair loss persists or worsens, consider consulting a dermatologist or a trichologist. They can provide a more personalized examination, possibly suggest a blood test, or recommend treatments like minoxidil or supplements if from a nutritional deficit standpoint if required.
