what to drink to get rid of pimples - #15344

Rudra

I am really stressed out about my breakouts lately. I've always had pretty clear skin, but for the past few months, I've been dealing with these annoying pimples that just won't go away! I've tried changing my skincare routine, using different creams and everything, but nothing seems to work. A friend mentioned that I should look into what to drink to get rid of pimples, and I was wondering if that could be a thing? Like, is there certain stuff I should be drinking, or avoiding, that can actually help clear my skin? I usually just drink water and maybe some juice but I've heard that things like green tea or maybe smoothies could be good (or not?). I also read somewhere that dairy might make it worse, but I love my yogurt and cheese, ugh. Should I cut it out entirely or just find other drinks? Anyone have tips on what to drink to get rid of pimples? Did you guys have any luck with specific drinks or smoothies? Kinda desperate here, please help!

Certain drinks might help support better skin health and possibly reduce the occurrence of pimples, although it’s important to remember that tackling acne often involves a combination of lifestyle changes and sometimes medical treatments. Let’s start with what you can add to your diet. Green tea is indeed a popular recommendation; it’s rich in antioxidants like catechins, which have anti-inflammatory properties and might help reduce acne. Drinking a cup or two daily could benefit your skin. Herbal teas like spearmint have also been studied and shown potential in reducing acne by controlling hormones associated with oil production. Another thing to consider is staying well-hydrated, so continue consuming ample water throughout the day to help keep your skin clear by flushing out toxins. A smoothie-based diet can help if you’re incorporating the right ingredients. Opt for fruits and vegetables high in vitamin C, like berries and spinach, and essential fatty acids found in flaxseeds or chia seeds—all of which contribute to healthy skin.

Regarding things you might consider cutting back—dairy is a common culprit for some in exacerbating acne due to hormones present in milk. You don’t necessarily have to cut out yogurt and cheese completely if they’re a cherished part of your diet, but limiting these foods and observing if your skin responds could be insightful. Another aspect to watch is high sugar beverages and juices, as they can increase inflammation and drive acne formation due to spikes in insulin levels. Instead, focus on consuming whole fruits for their fiber content, which help manage blood sugar levels more steadily. Remember, while adjusting dietary factors can play a role, it might not be enough on its own. If changes in diet don’t improve symptoms, consulting with a dermatologist can provide insights and explore further treatment avenues, like topical treatments or medications depending on the severity and persistence of your acne.
