how to put green tea - #15941

Shanaya

I am really confused about how to put green tea into my everyday routine. I’ve always heard that green tea is supposed to be super healthy but honestly, I don’t know where to start. Like, should I be drinking it in the morning or evening?? I read somewhere that drinking it on an empty stomach is bad and can mess with your stomach, which is kinda scary. Last week I bought some high-quality loose leaf green tea and it sat in my cupboard for days because I totally didn’t know how to put green tea into my life. I tried making a cup but just let the leaves steep too long and it tasted so bitter! I don’t want to waste this tea, and I feel like if I don’t figure out how to put green tea into my diet soon, it’ll just go to waste. Also, what about the health benefits? Like, I heard it can help with weight loss and boost energy — but how much should I be drinking daily? Is there a right amount? I might be overthinking all of this, but I really want to get the most out of it. Any tips on how to put green tea in my routine would be super helpful!

Introducing green tea into your routine can be quite straightforward once you get the hang of it. The key is to find a preparation method you enjoy and integrate it at a time that fits your lifestyle. In terms of when to drink it, many people start with a morning cup. It contains caffeine, albeit less than coffee, which can provide a gentle energy boost. However, drinking green tea on an empty stomach may cause gastric discomfort for some people, so it’s often better to have it after a meal. If you experience sensitivity, perhaps have it mid-morning or mid-afternoon instead. Now, about preparing the tea properly to avoid bitterness—that’s a common issue! Ideally, boil the water and let it cool slightly (around 160–180°F or 70–80°C) before pouring it over the leaves. The steeping time should be just 2-3 minutes; longer can indeed make it bitter. If it’s too strong, you can always adjust the amount of tea or water next time. As for health benefits, green tea has antioxidants and can help with metabolism, which might assist with weight management, among other benefits. Drinking 2-3 cups a day is generally regarded as beneficial, but there’s no need to go overboard. Too much caffeine, even from green tea, might disrupt sleep or increase anxiety. Remember that it should complement a balanced diet and healthy lifestyle rather than act as a miracle solution on its own. So, start with one cup a day at a time that suits you and gradually figure out what’s best for your routine. You might soon find it becomes an enjoyable part of your day.
