aloe vera gel for face at night - #16958
I am seriously confused about using aloe vera gel for face at night. I started using this aloe vera gel a few weeks ago, and my skin has felt super nice, but I'm really not sure if I'm doing it right. Like, I read somewhere that aloe vera gel for face at night can help with hydration or something, but how much should I apply? I’ve been slapping on a pretty thick layer before bed thinking more is better, ya know? I noticed my skin feels smooth in the morning, but also sometimes a little sticky? I've also been having some breakouts lately and wondering if it’s from the aloe vera gel for face at night or just my regular skincare routine? I mean, I want my skin to feel fresh without getting all those bumps, and I’m just kinda scared of that. Plus, I heard that it can be a good stuff for anti-aging, but is using aloe vera gel for face at night gonna really help with that? I just don’t want to mess things up more. Anyone have their own experience with using aloe vera gel for face at night, and can you give me some tips? Like, how do you know if you’re overdoing it or if it’s really making a difference at all?

Doctors’ responses
Applying aloe vera gel on your face at night can contribute to skin hydration, given its moisturizing properties. It’s essential, though, to keep a balanced approach to achieve optimal results without adverse reactions. Instead of applying a thick layer, a thin, even layer should suffice. Too much can lead to that sticky feeling you’re experiencing, and might congest your pores, potentially triggering breakouts. Aloe vera gel, though generally well-tolerated, isn’t suitable for everyone, especially if you’re experiencing acne outbreaks after starting its use. It may be wise to apply it selectively or conduct a patch test on a small area to monitor your skin’s response. In terms of its anti-aging benefits, while aloe vera can indeed help in keeping the skin moisturized and slightly improve its elasticity, it might not be as potent against significant signs of aging as other ingredients specifically designed for that purpose, like retinoids or peptides. Tracking changes in your skin can often guide these care routines. Should breakouts persist, reassess other products in your routine, or even speak with a dermatologist to identify the underlying cause. If aloe vera works well for you otherwise, continue with moderation and consider integrating it with more targeted products for any specific skin concerns. Keep your regimen gentle and straightforward.
