how to remove pimples in 2 days - #17809
I am really struggling with my skin right now. I’m not sure what’s going on, but I woke up yesterday with like three big pimples on my cheeks that are just driving me insane. I never really had problems with pimples before, maybe an occasional one, but this is just too much. I tried some of my usual skincare products but it doesn’t seem to help and I’m worried it could get worse. I don't think I can wait around for a week or more to get rid of them! I saw some stuff online about how to remove pimples in 2 days, but honestly I’m not sure what really works. Lot of the advice seems kinda sketchy or just like those magic remedies that never pan out. Is there any reliable way, any tricks or treatments you all could suggest for how to remove pimples in 2 days? Also, I read about ice compressing them, will that actually help, or is it just a myth? I’m open to trying anything at this point! I feel like I need my skin back to normal ASAP. I don't have any crazy allergy history or anything, just very average skin I’d say. Thanks in advance for any tips or advice!

Doctors’ responses
While it’s challenging to guarantee acne will disappear in two days, some steps may help reduce their appearance and prevent more from forming. First, use a benzoyl peroxide gel or cream, which can help kill bacteria and reduce inflammation. Applying a 2.5-5% benzoyl peroxide product to the affected areas once or twice daily can expedite healing but be cautious, as it can be drying. Salicylic acid is another option; its exfoliating properties help unclog pores. Use a cleanser or spot treatment with 0.5-2% salicylic acid, but avoid combining it with benzoyl peroxide to minimize irritation. Ice, as you mentioned, can reduce swelling and redness temporarily. Wrap an ice cube in a clean cloth and hold it on the pimples for about five minutes at a time, with five-minute breaks, before repeating.
Be cautious with your skincare routine; over-washing or harsh scrubbing can irritate and exacerbate acne. Stick to a gentle cleanser once or twice daily. Avoid touching or popping pimples, as this can lead to further inflammation and possible scarring. Consider using a non-comedogenic moisturizer to maintain skin hydration, especially if using drying acne treatments. If no improvement is seen, or if the acne worsens, consultation with a dermatologist might be helpful as they might recommend prescription treatments like topical retinoids or antibiotics.
Watch for potential irritants in products, such as fragrances or heavy oils, which may worsen acne for some individuals. Ensure makeup and sunscreen are labeled non-comedogenic. Also, lifestyle factors like stress, hormonal changes, and diet can impact skin health, though these are more preventive considerations. While these steps can help reduce acne quickly, always remember that significant improvement may take more than a couple of days, and patience is key.
