apple cream for face - #18459

Shreya

I am really curious about using apple cream for face. A couple weeks ago, I was at this farmers market and stumbled upon a stall selling homemade beauty products. The guy said apple cream for face could help with acne and dry skin, which I have been dealing with for most of my life! I bought a jar and tried it, but now I'm kinda confused. Like, I noticed my skin feeling smoother after a few days but also got some breakouts. Am I using it wrong? Should I be applying apple cream for face every day or just a few times a week? Also, does it really help with dark spots coz I've got a few from previous acne scars? I read some reviews online about how amazing apple cream for face is, but now I’m thinking maybe it’s not for everyone? Like, I wanted to see if anyone here had similar experiences or tips? Did you guys notice any changes after using apple cream for face, or should I be looking for something else? Just trying to figure out if I should keep going with this or toss it out! Help!!!

When it comes to using apple-based products on your face, there’s a bit to consider, especially with something homemade. Apples contain natural acids like alpha-hydroxy acids (AHAs), which can help exfoliate the skin and promote smoother texture. This might be why you initially noticed your skin feeling smoother. Applying AHAs can help with mild hyperpigmentation, such as dark spots from acne scars, by promoting cell turnover. However, be cautious, as AHAs can also increase your skin’s sensitivity to the sun, so it’s crucial to use sunscreen daily.

The breakouts you’re experiencing could be due to several factors. When trying a new product, it’s common to see an initial reaction as your skin adjusts. However, it could also indicate that the product is too rich or comedogenic for your skin type, especially if it’s homemade and lacks precise ingredient control. Regarding frequency, it’s usually best to start using new skincare products sparingly—maybe 2-3 times a week—to monitor how your skin reacts. If no adverse effects appear, you can gradually increase the frequency.

Consider that apple cream might not solely address acne or all your skin concerns. For persistent acne, you might benefit more from proven treatments containing ingredients like benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid, which have solid evidence backing their effectiveness in acne management. If dark spots are a major concern, look into products with ingredients like vitamin C, niacinamide, or retinoids, which are more established in treating hyperpigmentation. If your skin continues reacting negatively, it may be worth consulting a dermatologist, especially if you’re prone to acne and want a tailored solution for your specific skin type and concerns.
