how to hide acne - #18966

Palak

I am really struggling with how to hide acne these days. Like, I used to have clear skin, but now it seems like I keep breaking out right before any big event, ugh! Honestly, last week I had this huge job interview, and I woke up with this giant pimple right on my forehead. I tried different over-the-counter creams that I thought would help, but nothing worked in time. I even looked up how to hide acne with makeup tutorials, but when I tried covering it, it just made everything worse. My cousin also suggested using some kind of green concealer to neutralize the redness, just wondering if that actually works? Also, I’ve heard mixed things on whether I should pop it or leave it alone, becuase I heard that sometimes popping can make it worse but then how do you hide acne that way? I’m just really looking for tips or tricks on how to hide acne quickly, like super fast, because every time I think I’ve got it under control, another one pops up! Any suggestions or experiences with how to hide acne would really help!

Dealing with a breakout right before a big event is a common issue, and there are indeed some practical approaches for hiding acne temporarily. First, when it comes to concealing acne, color correction using green concealer can indeed be effective as it neutralizes the redness associated with inflamed pimples. Apply a small dab directly on the spot, gently blend it out, and follow up with your regular foundation or concealer that matches your skin tone. Use a clean brush or sponge for even blending to avoid introducing bacteria to your skin. That said, resist the temptation to pop pimples as it can lead to scarring and further inflammation, actually making it more difficult to conceal. Instead, try applying a small amount of ice to reduce swelling and redness temporarily. Over-the-counter spot treatments containing benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid can be applied overnight to help reduce inflammation, although results might not appear immediately. For a quick fix, a thick, full-coverage concealer applied with a precise brush can help mask the blemish; just make sure not to layer too heavily, as it can cake and draw more attention. It’s crucial to maintain a regular skincare routine suitable for your skin type to prevent future breakouts, and consider consulting a dermatologist for persistent acne, as they might suggest prescription treatments to manage outbreaks effectively. Finally, remember to remove makeup thoroughly at the end of the day, as leftover residue can contribute to new breakouts.
