black pimple on nose - #19571

Hriday

I am kinda freaking out about this black pimple on nose. It started out as this small bump a few days ago, but then it turned dark, like a black pimple on nose! At first, I thought it was just a regular breakout, you know? But this thing is different. It's not painful or itchy or anything, just really noticeable. I have this wedding coming up next month, and I seriously don’t want to be walking around with a black pimple on nose in all the pictures! I've tried some over-the-counter stuff, like salicylic acid, but it hasn't helped much. Like, why is this black pimple on nose just hanging out? Is it a sign of something more serious? I read online that it could be a clogged pore or even a blackhead, but isn’t that just weird? The thing is, I usually don’t break out on my nose like this. Should I see a dermatologist, or is it something I can handle at home? It just seems really odd since I don't have acne problems normally. Could stress cause this random black pimple on nose? Really need some advice before I ruin all the wedding pics!

Doctors' responses

When it comes to a black pimple on your nose, it could be several things, such as a blackhead, which is a common form of acne caused by clogged pores. The color you’re seeing might be due to the oxidization of the oil and debris in the pore when it’s exposed to air, turning it dark. On the other hand, if it’s larger and more solid, it could be a seborrheic keratosis, which is benign but can sometimes look quite dark. Considering you’re feeling stressed, it is true that stress can sometimes exacerbate skin issues, potentially leading to breakouts. But for a pimple that’s different from the norm, especially if it changes, it’s wise to err on the safe side. Since you’ve already tried salicylic acid without success, it might be time for a more focused approach. We’d recommend keeping your skincare routine simple and gentle meanwhile – avoid overly aggressive scrubs or treatments, as they might irritate the area further. If the lesion doesn’t improve or you’re worried about what it could be, seeing a dermatologist would be beneficial. They can determine precisely what it is and suggest treatments such as extraction for blackheads or other appropriate approaches if it’s something else. Quick intervention can also make sure you look your best for the wedding. While waiting for your appointment, avoiding picking at it can prevent any potential scarring or worsening. Remember, most breakouts are manageable, but a professional’s opinion can offer peace of mind and a swift solution.
