brain bleeding symptoms - #20496

Anya

I am really worried about some stuff that's been happening lately. A couple weeks ago, I started having these really intense headaches, like, outta nowhere. I don’t usually get headaches at all, so it kinda freaked me out. Then, I noticed that I was feeling kinda dizzy and a bit confused at times, almost like everything was in slow motion or something. I was googling brain bleeding symptoms and saw that some people describe these headaches as the worst of their life. And that freaked me out more! Then, last week, I had this moment where my vision got all blurry, and I couldn't focus on anything for a few minutes. My friend said it could be related to stress or lack of sleep, but could these really be brain bleeding symptoms? I'm trying not to overreact, but isn’t that a possibility? Like, should I be getting checked or is this something that might be nothing? My mom always said to take headaches seriously, but I'm just scared of what they might find. I never expect to be in a situation worrying about brain bleeding symptoms, but here I am. Should I push my doctor for tests or just see if it gets better? Sorry for rambling but I just feel lost right now!

Doctors' responses

Considering the symptoms you’re describing—intense headaches, dizziness, confusion, blurry vision—it’s important to take them seriously, as they can potentially indicate a serious issue such as brain bleeding, especially if these symptoms came on suddenly and are progressively worsening. While stress and lack of sleep can indeed contribute to similar experiences, brain bleeding could manifest in the way you’ve mentioned, making it vital to seek immediate medical evaluation. Brain bleeding, like a hemorrhage, can often result from trauma or other medical conditions like an aneurysm or hypertension, and without treatment, the consequences could be severe. Differences can include the sudeen and severe nature of the headache, often described as a “thunderclap” headache. Given your reported symptoms, it’s important to contact a healthcare professional as soon as possible. They may recommend imaging tests such as a CT scan or MRI to rule out or confirm bleeding or any other intracranial abnormalities. Even if the cause turns out to be less serious, like a migraine or tension headache, getting a clear diagnosis is key to managing your symptoms properly. So, yes, push for a thorough evaluation by your doctor immediately—waiting to see if it improves might not be in your best interest given the potential severity. Remember, it’s always better to err on the side of caution when it comes to your health. Make arrangements to see your doctor or go to the emergency department to get these symptoms properly investigated. Your health should definitely come first.
