why pimple occur on face - #21834

Drishti

I am really confused about why pimple occur on face. A few weeks ago, I started noticing these weird bumps popping up, mostly on my cheeks, and like what's the deal with that? I've never had much acne, and now it seems like every time I look in the mirror, there's a new one! I've been trying to keep my skin clean and I've changed my moisturizer to something lighter, thought that would help but no luck. I read some stuff online about hormones or maybe my diet? I mean, I had pizza last weekend and I’m wondering if that could’ve done it. I’ve also been stressed lately with work, could that be a reason why pimple occur on face? My friend says it could be from wearing my face mask too much, but like, I have to wear it for my job. Ugh! Just worried I might be doing something seriously wrong. Is there something specific I should be checking or avoiding? How can I figure out why pimple occur on face in my case? I just want clear skin again. Any insights or tips would be super helpful!

Pimples on the face can be frustrating, but you’re certainly not alone in experiencing this. It’s multifactorial, which means there are several potential reasons why you’re seeing these bumps. Hormones play a significant role; fluctuations, particularly an increases in androgens, can increase oil production in the skin, leading to clogged pores. Stress can also ramp up production of hormones like cortisol, which might lead to similar oil surges. Diet is another aspect to consider. While the occasional indulgence in pizza alone isn’t likely to be the sole culprit, diets high in refined sugars and dairy have been noted in some research to exacerbate acne for some people. Mask-wearing, particularly if you’re doing it for long periods, may contribute as well. This is sometimes referred to as “maskne” due to friction and the trapping of heat and moisture, creating an environment where bacteria thrive. Continue with your good hygiene habits but perhaps do add a few other steps. Incorporating a consistent skincare routine including a gentle face wash, and couple times a week, using a product highlighting salicylic acid can help to keep pores clear. It might be helpful to look at non-comedogenic moisturizers since they won’t block pores. And regarding mask use, make sure they’re clean and swapped out regularly-use fabrics that are gentle on the skin. If you’ve tried these steps, and the problem persists, consider consulting a dermatologist—they can help tailor a treatment to your specific skin type and needs. Keep an eye on any changes in your routine or products that coincide with breakouts, and try managing stress with techniques like meditation or breathing exercises which might help.
