Dr. Bharat Joshi
I’m a periodontist and academician with a strong clinical and teaching background. Over the last 4 years and 8 months, I’ve been actively involved in dental education, guiding students at multiple levels including dental hygienist, BDS, and MDS programs. Currently, I serve as a Reader at MMCDSR in Ambala, Haryana—a role that allows me to merge my academic passion with hands-on experience. Clinically, I’ve been practicing dentistry for the past 12 years. From routine procedures like scaling and root planing to more advanced cases involving grafts, biopsies, and implant surgeries. Honestly, I still find joy in doing a simple RCT when it’s needed. It’s not just about the procedure but making sure the patient feels comfortable and safe. Academically, I have 26 research publications to my credit. I’m on the editorial boards of the Archives of Dental Research and Journal of Dental Research and Oral Health, and I’ve spent a lot of time reviewing manuscripts—from case reports to meta-analyses and even book reviews. I was honored to receive the “Best Editor” award by Innovative Publications, and Athena Publications recognized me as an “excellent reviewer,” which honestly came as a bit of a surprise! In 2025, I had the opportunity to present a guest lecture in Italy on traumatic oral lesions. Sharing my work and learning from peers globally has been incredibly fulfilling. Outside academics and clinics, I’ve also worked in the pharmaceutical sector as a Drug Safety Associate for about 3 years, focusing on pharmacovigilance. That role really sharpened my attention to detail and deepened my understanding of drug interactions and adverse effects. My goal is to keep learning, and give every patient and student my absolute best.

Based on what you’re describing, there are multiple symptoms that possibly point to an interconnected set of health issues. Your irregular periods, significant pain in your ovary, and menstrual irregularity might suggest something like polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) or endometriosis. These conditions could explain some of your symptoms, like the pain and menstrual irregularities, but that would need a thorough evaluation by a gynecologist including ultrasounds or hormonal tests. Your issues with fluctuating weight, stomach acid imbalance, and heat waves might be related to thyroid dysfunction, such as hyperthyroidism or hypothyroidism — a blood test could measure thyroid hormones to confirm this. The burning sensation in your stomach warrants follow-up on your GERD diagnosis, ensuring your medication and diet are appropriate and aren’t exacerbating these symptoms. The exercise-induced asthma or exercise-induced bronchoconstriction could be causing your lung and breathing issues when you exert yourself, which might benefit from inhalers or respiratory evaluation. Heart pains and fainting warrant evaluation for cardiovascular issues, perhaps starting with an ECG or echocardiogram. Joint hypermobility, pain, and the sensory symptoms sound like they might be something like Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome or another connective tissue disorder; a rheumatologist could provide insight here. Migraines can relate to various causes, including stress, nutritional triggers, or hormonally driven patterns. You may want to explore options for preventive or acute treatment, perhaps seeing a neurologist. Thirst and hair thinning could also link back to a thyroid problem or might merit checking blood sugars for diabetes. High muscle gain and the shaking could relate to metabolic or hormonal imbalances. An endocrinologist could help untangle that. It’s crucial to have a comprehensive assessment and you might need several specialists to address these different issues. When you’re engaging with medical professionals, try to be as succinct but comprehensive in detailing your symptoms as possible — written notes can help. If you feel you’re not heard, perhaps seeking a second opinion or asking for referrals to specific specialists may be beneficial. Prioritize these evaluations sooner rather than later to assess what may involve serious conditions, particularly those affecting your respiratory or cardiovascular health or causing severe pain and disruption to day-to-day living.
