what is the reason of hair fall

Arush

I am really worried about my hair fall. Like, for the past few months, I’ve been noticing so much hair on my pillow every morning. It’s like I’m shedding a ton of hair every time I brush or wash my hair. I thought it was just seasonal at first, you know? But it didn’t get better. I did some Googling and read about what is the reason of hair fall, but honestly, it just made me more confused! I’m 28 and in generally good health. I try to eat well and exercise. Sometimes feel stressed with work, but who doesn’t these days? It just feels like it's getting worse. I thought maybe it could be hormonal or something, but wasn’t sure. I actually went to a dermatologist and he assigned me some blood tests which showed everything was normal, nothing concerning. Still, like, what is the reason of hair fall? Is it normal at my age? Some friends say it’s just a phase, while others suggest it could be a sign of something serious?? I really don’t wanna be going bald or anything. What should I do or what questions should I ask next time I see a doc? Anyone else dealt with this?

You’re not alone in experiencing hair fall, and it’s understandable that hearing different things and reading online has left you feeling confused. Hair fall can result from several potential factors, and pinpointing yours would involve considering various angles. While it’s typical for many people to shed around 50 to 100 hairs a day, anything noticeably more could be worth examining further. If blood tests haven’t revealed issues with thyroid function or iron levels, which are common culprits, other explanations may include stress, hormonal changes, nutritional deficiencies, or scalp health issues. Stress, while a common part of life, can indeed contribute to hair fall through mechanisms such as telogen effluvium, where stress triggers hair to move quickly from the growing to the shedding phase of the hair cycle. Hormones are another possible factor, especially if there have been any changes recently like switching or stopping contraceptive methods, which can sometimes lead to hair shedding. Diet plays a vital role, too, as deficiencies in nutrients like Vitamin D, B12, zinc or proteins could exacerbate hair fall. Consider tracking your diet more closely or working with a dietitian to ensure you’re meeting all nutritional needs. Hairstyling habits or using harsh hair treatments can also weaken hair. If you haven’t already, examining these aspects with a healthcare professional would be a good plan. Next time you visit a doctor, you could ask about potential lifestyle, nutrition, or stress-relief strategies that might help, and whether seeing a specialist in hair health would be beneficial. Ultimately, if your hair fall continues to worsen, it might be prudent to revisit healthcare professionals to reassess if any other underlying reasons have been overlooked or if more specialized treatments could be applicable.
