does beetroot juice increase weight - #22964

Shaurya

I am feeling really confused and a bit worried about my recent diet. I’ve been juicing a lot of beetroot juice lately because I heard it’s super healthy and great for energy, but I keep wondering, does beetroot juice increase weight? Like, I used to really struggle with my weight after having my second kid, and now that I'm trying to keep things in check, I thought this juice would be a good option. I mean, I drink it instead of snacking, but I started noticing that maybe I’m not losing as much fat as I’d hoped. Does beetroot juice increase weight or could it just be that I’m adding extra calories without realizing it? My friends say beets are low in calories, but I found out one cup of beetroot juice has quite a few calories! And they're really sweet, so I worry about sugar too. Is the sugar in beetroot juice gonna slow down my progress? Everyone talks about the amazing benefits, and I love the taste, but I don’t wanna sabotage my efforts. Should I cut back or maybe just drink it at a different time? Does beetroot juice increase weight, or is there more to it than just the numbers on the scale? Would love some insight from you docs!

Beetroot juice, on its own, doesn’t automatically cause weight gain in a straightforward sense, but there are a few factors to keep in mind. Firstly, beetroot juice is indeed healthy with lots of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants that can be beneficial overall. It’s relatively low in calories compared to other sugary drinks, but you’re correct that it still contains natural sugars and calories. With a cup of beetroot juice roughly containing 100 calories or more, it can add up, especially if you’re consuming it frequently without adjusting your total caloric intake elsewhere. Consuming more calories than you burn, regardless of the source, leads to weight gain. It’s possible that by replacing snacks with beetroot juice, you might still be adding more caloric intake than those snacks combined with other meals. The naturally occurring sugars in beet juice can contribute to your daily sugar intake as well, which might affect weight control if not balanced properly.

When considering your diet, look at the bigger picture. It’s not only about one specific food or drink but about the entirety of your daily consumption. It may help to incorporate beetroot juice in moderation while ensuring it fits into your daily caloric goals. Perhaps limit the quantity to a reasonable amount per day and consider using it post-workout, where the sugars might help replenish energy stores. Also, keep an eye on other components of your diet to ensure a balanced approach and adjust other intakes if beet juice becomes a significant daily component. Finally, maintaining an active lifestyle with regular physical activity is key in managing weight while enjoying foods you like within a balanced context. If you still have concerns about weight management or dietary choices, discussing these with a nutritionist or dietitian could tailor advice further to your personal needs and goals.
