apple cider vinegar when to drink - #23140

Neil

I am super confused about apple cider vinegar when to drink it. I started using it a few weeks ago because my friend swears by its health benefits, but now I’m not sure if I’m doing it right. I usually mix a tablespoon with water in the morning hoping it’ll help with digestion and maybe weight loss, but I read somewhere that drinking it before meals can be more effective? I had some stomach cramps the other day after having it on an empty stomach, and I don’t know if that was normal or what. Also, I've been mixing it with honey, but is that the right move? And I've heard some people say you should sip it slowly, but I just kind of gulp it down, is that bad? Like, should I be drinking it at a specific time like breakfast or right before bed? I guess my main thing is, apple cider vinegar when to drink it to get the best results? I want to make sure I’m doing this the right way because I really wanna see some benefits. Any advice would really help, thanks!

When considering when to drink apple cider vinegar (ACV) for potential health benefits like aiding digestion or weight loss, there are some things to keep in mind. Drinking it before meals could be helpful as some studies suggest it might reduce appetite, potentially supporting weight management. However, taking it on an empty stomach might cause irritation for some people, which could explains your stomach cramps. In such cases, it’s sensible to wait until after you’ve had something to eat before drinking your ACV mixture to minimize discomfort. Mixing ACV with honey is fine and it can help improve the taste, but it shouldn’t drastically alter its properties. Just be mindful of sugar intake, especially if you are watching your calorie or sugar consumption.

Sipping slowly vs. gulping — ACV is acidic and could distress the esophagus or wear down tooth enamel if not consumed cautiously. It’s best to dilute it well, perhaps in a full glass of water, and sip rather than gulp, to safeguard your teeth and digestive lining. Using a straw might further protect the teeth. Regarding timing, there’s no precise moment that’s universally best for everyone. If you’re seeking digestion help, taking it before or during meals might be more beneficial. Conversely, if you experience acid reflux, it might not be suitable on an empty stomach or before bed. Always consider how it affects you personally and adjust your routine accordingly. Make sure you listen to your body and discontinue use if discomfort persists. If you have any underlying conditions like a history of gastrointestinal issues, consulting a healthcare professional before continuing use is a good step.
