how to have sex for long time - #23250

Rhea

I am kinda embarrassed to even ask this, but I really wanna know how to have sex for long time without it getting awkward or uncomfortable. See, my partner and I have been together for a while now, and things are great, but I've noticed that I kinda struggle with lasting long enough. Like the other night, everything was super fun, but then after just a few minutes I felt like things went south, ya know? It’s not that I don’t enjoy it, but I just want to make sure we both enjoy it more and for longer periods of time. I've tried a few things—like controlling my breath and even some weird breathing exercises I found online, but I'm not really sure it helps. Do you guys have any tips on how to have sex for long time? I feel a little shy about discussing this but I really want to be more confident in bed. I've read a bit about edging and all that stuff but it sounds complicated. It's just frustrating sometimes! Is it mostly mental or physical, or is there like some kinda exercises or techniques I should practice? Any advice on how to have sex for long time would be really appreciated!

It’s completely normal to want to improve and enhance your sexual experience, and many factors could influence how long you can last during sex, both physically and mentally. Let’s break it down into some practical and actionable strategies. First, consider focusing on general physical health and lifestyle. Regular cardio and strength-training exercises can improve stamina and endurance, which can, in turn, support longer-lasting sexual activity. In addition, maintaining a balanced diet rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins can support your overall health and sexual function.

From a psychological perspective, stress, anxiety, or nervousness can sometimes lead to quicker ejaculation. Mindfulness techniques like meditation can help manage stress and anxiety. Regular practice can improve concentration and overall mental health, which could help during sex. It’s also worth considering whether anxiety might be exacerbating the issue; try talking openly to your partner about your concerns, as a supportive partner can greatly improve comfort and reduce stress.

Now let’s look at specific techniques. Edging, which involves stopping just before the point of climax and allowing the sensation to subside, can be quite effective, but takes practice and patience. The start-stop method or the squeeze technique could also be useful. Both aim to delay ejaculation consciously by giving you pause and breathers during intercourse, helping to manage the point of no return more effectively.

Alternatively, consider pelvic floor exercises, also known as Kegel exercises, for men. Strengthening these muscles can give you better control during ejaculation. To find the right muscles, imagine stopping urination mid-stream; those are the muscles you want to target. Consistently performing sets of Kegels can lead to gains in pelvic control.

Finally, remember to pace yourself during sex; switch positions, take breaks, and prioritize mutual satisfaction rather than focusing solely on metrics like duration. It’s a good idea to consult a healthcare provider, especially if you’re finding the issue related to sudden or significant changes, as they can provide specific medical insights or rule out conditions such as erectile dysfunction or premature ejaculation that may require different approaches.
