Managing digestive issues, especially those that have been around since childhood, often involves a blend of dietary adjustments and lifestyle changes. Given your sensitivity to spicy foods and milk, these might be noteworthy triggers for your symptoms. Consider moderating or temporarily cutting back on spicy foods to see if it impacts your symptoms positively. If lactose intolerance is suspected, avoiding milk or using lactose-free alternatives could help; sometimes yogurt and hard cheeses are better tolerated. Consider evaluating your fiber intake, ensuring you’re consuming an adequate amount from sources like fruits, vegetables, and whole grains, though avoid overloading suddenly as it can worsen gas and bloating. Disturbed sleep can affect digestion; establishing a consistent sleep routine and possibly avoiding heavy meals or caffeine too close to bedtime may improve rest. Staying hydrated supports digestion and helps in managing loose stools, but aim to sip water throughout the day rather than large amounts at once. Regular but moderate exercise can also enhance digestive function and overall well-being. Keep an eye out for any red-flag symptoms like unexplained weight loss, severe abdominal pain, or bleeding, and seek medical advice promptly if these arise. Ensure medication for BP doesn’t interfere with digestive health; sometimes, side effects can mimic or exacerbate GI issues, so discuss any concerns with your healthcare provider. A comprehensive assessment could be needed if symptoms persist or worsen, as understanding the root cause will guide more tailored interventions. A registered dietitian could also offer insights for dietary modifications specific to your lifestyle and preferences.
