Doctors’ responses
Hi Jamsina,
We cannot confirm the diagnosis without proper investigation.
Possible conditions are: Hormonal imbalances Iron deficiency anemia Uterine fibroid
Please do these tests; CBC Serum ferritin Thyroid profile Fasting , HbA1c
From your symptoms, the most likely issue is anemia from heavy menstrual bleeding, possibly due to fibroids or hormonal imbalance. But only tests can confirm.
Hope your query is resolved Thank you
Hello Jasmina,
I understand that this might be worrisome, but I’m here to help.
The possible reasons for what you feel might be - Hormonal issues or Uterus issues or thyroid issues and anemia too.
My advice -
1. Get these investigations done - CBC, Thyroid Profile, Ultrasound Pelvis, Urine Routine & Microscopy. Also a Urine Pregnancy Test is advised, if even slight doubt is there. Review with these reports.
2. In the meantime you can take this - Tab. Iron+Folic Acid once daily For pain, Tab. Drotaverine+Mefenamic Acid twice a day Stay well hydrated and eat green leafy vegetables, beetroot, dates, etc.
Feel free to reach out.
Regards, Dr. Nirav Jain MBBS, DNB D.Fam.Med

Your symptoms—dizziness, heavy periods with clots, abdominal and back pain, fatigue, and food aversion—suggest significant blood loss or hormonal imbalance, which could be due to conditions like fibroids, anemia, or other gynecological issues. These require prompt evaluation to prevent complications. Please consult a gynecologist as soon as possible for a thorough examination, blood tests, and imaging to determine the cause and appropriate treatment.

Based on the symptoms you’ve described, there could be a few potential causes. Frequent urination, dizziness, and fatigue could potentially hint towards anemia, which can result from heavy menstrual bleeding and clotting. Heavy periods with clotting might suggest conditions like fibroids, endometriosis, or hormonal imbalances such as hypothyroidism. There might also be a connection with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) given the menstrual irregularities and abdominal pain. The abdominal pain and back pain may be associated with gynecological issues, but other causes, such as urinary tract infections or gastrointestinal problems, should be considered as they could also lead to food aversion and digestion problems.
Given the combination of these symptoms, it’s important to reach out to a healthcare professional. For now, ensure you’re staying hydrated and managing any pain with safe over-the-counter medications, but see a doctor for a thorough evaluation. They might recommend blood tests including a complete blood count to check for anemia, possibly an ultrasound of the pelvic area if there’s suspicion of fibroids or related issues, and hormone level checks. If your symptoms worsen or you experience severe pain, fever, or increased bleeding, it would be prudent to seek immediate medical attention. It’s essential to get a diagnosis tailored to your specific condition and symptoms by a medical professional.
