I am Dr. Aman Shaba and honestly, psychiatry for me is this messy, layered, real thing—not some textbook formula. I work across a bunch of areas. General psychiatry? Yup, I treat stuff like depression, OCD, bipolar—sometimes even overlapping in ways that don't fit neat boxes. My neuropsychiatry side kicks in when there’s brain-related stuff—like dementia, post-stroke behavioral issues, or epilepsy-related mood shifts. They’re tricky, but I kinda like the challenge. Addiction’s another core part of what I do. I’ve handled substance use—alcohol, nicotine, opioids, all that. Working with adolescents at Deep Chand Bandhu Hospital gave me a raw, honest view into early addiction. Different vibe, different tools. Also, I’m certified in Sexual Medicine via Allo Health. Erectile dysfunction, premature ejaculation, low libido, anxiety around intimacy—I see all of that, and yeah, people rarely talk about it openly. I deal with child and adolescent psych issues too—ADHD, ASD, learning problems... it’s not just diagnosis, it’s building trust with kids who don’t always have the words. Older adults? Definitely. Geriatric psychiatry is delicate—you’re dealing with memory loss, late-life depression, anxiety tangled with physical decline. Oh and therapy—CBT, DBT, MET... I mix techniques based on what works. I also do Telepsychiatry through Tele MANAS under CIP Ranchi. Helping folks who can’t come in person? That’s huge. Every case is different, every mind works different—that’s what makes it worth it.
Achievements:
I am someone who’s kinda drawn to stuff people avoid talking about. Like I went through Allo Health’s sexual medicine program not just to add a certificate, but ‘cause I wanted to actually understand how sexual health connects to mental wellbeing... which it really does, more than ppl think. Another thing I care a lot abt is helping teens break out of addiction loops. At Deep Chand Bandhu Hosp, I worked pretty closely with adolescents in de-addiction care—rough at times but honestly some of my most meaningful work yet.

I am Dr. Aman Shaba and yeah—psychiatry’s more than just my job, it kinda shaped how I look at people, illness, even life honestly. I’m a Consultant Neuropsychiatrist with solid clinical experience handling everything from general psychiatry to neuropsychiatric disorders, addiction issues, sexual health concerns, and psychotherapeutic stuff. I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach.. mental health just doesn’t work like that. I did my M.B.B.S. from M.I.M.E.R Medical College in Pune. Those early years in med school really pushed me to get a strong grip on clinical basics, which helped later. But I started leaning into mental health early on. That’s why I went on to do my MD in Psychiatry from JNMC, Wardha—probably the most intense yet eye-opening 3 years. I worked closely with patients from all kinds of backgrounds, saw first-hand how complicated and layered psychiatric conditions really are. Crisis interventions, acute psychosis, treatment-resistant cases—there was always something new. One thing led to another, and I got really interested in sexual health too, which ppl don’t talk about enough tbh. I trained in Sexual Medicine at Allo Health, which added a whole other dimention to how I help patients, especially when concerns are both psychological and physiological—often they overlap! Over the years, I’ve worked in a few places that taught me stuff textbooks just don’t. At Deep Chand Bandhu Hospital in Delhi, I was posted in the Adolescent De-addiction Ward. Those were some of the toughest yet rewarding days.. working with kids battling substance use—detox, therapy, relapse prevention—all of it tailored to young minds. Then at Tele MANAS (under CIP Ranchi), I’ve been providing telepsychiatry consults for patients across Jharkhand. It’s different but impactful. You’d be surprised how many people open up easier on video calls. Whether it's general psychiatry or neuro stuff or addiction medicine—I try to meet patients where they are. I'm still learning, honestly, because mental health never stops evolving. But yeah, my goal is pretty straight—listen properly, avoid labels, treat the whole person, not just a disorder.
