Our Medical Review Process
Health content is only useful if you can trust it. On AskDocDoc, medical information is created and checked by qualified doctors. This page explains how we verify the people behind our content and how articles are reviewed before you rely on them.
Verified doctors
Doctors on AskDocDoc are verified before they can answer questions or review content. Each doctor has a public profile showing their background and the questions they have answered, so their expertise is visible and accountable rather than anonymous.
How answers work
When you ask a question, it is answered by a verified doctor — not by a bot or an automated system. For complex topics, several doctors can review and answer the same question in our “consilium” format, giving you a well-rounded, balanced response.
How articles are reviewed
Medical articles and wiki entries are written under the oversight of qualified doctors and are subject to medical review. When an article has been checked, the reviewing doctor is named on the page, with a link to their profile. This “medically reviewed by” signal tells you a clinician has verified the information.
Evidence-based standard
Every recommendation is grounded in evidence-based medicine and current clinical practice. Content that is not supported by research or professional experience is not published. You can read more about our standards in our Editorial Policy.
Kept up to date
Guidance changes over time. We update content as medicine evolves, and each page records its last update date. If you spot something that looks inaccurate or outdated, please let us know.
Not a substitute for your doctor
AskDocDoc offers general health information and online consultations. It does not replace an in-person relationship with your physician and is not for medical emergencies. Please read our Medical Disclaimer.
