Dr. Danurshri M
Experience: | 2 years |
Education: | The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University |
Academic degree: | MD (Doctor of Medicine) |
Area of specialization: | I am specialised in children and newborn heath care—yep, right from day-old babies to teens who think they're adults already. I work mostly with kids aged 0 to 18 years, helping diagnose illness early and making sure they get the right care without delay. Not always easy, especially when the lil ones can't really say what's wrong... but that’s kind of where my training kicks in.
I’m comfortable handling common pediatric issues like fever, coughs, gut stuff, skin rashes, and growth probs, but I also track more complex condtions when needed—like developmental delays, asthma or low immunity. I also like being honest and clear with parents, cause let’s face it, they’re usually more stressed than the kids. And yeah, explaining disease stuff in simple non-scary way is something I naturally do. Can't throw too many big medical words when someone's already anxious.
Whether it’s a vaccination visit or an emergency case that pops outta nowhere, I try to keep the child calm and the parent informed, which isn’t as easy as it sounds... but it's the part that matters most. |
Achievements: | I am someone who kinda liked quizzes in med school more than I’d expected—won 1st place in our college-level pediatric quiz and yeah, that one meant a lot at the time. I also got to present a poster at National Pedicon which was a bit nerve-wracking but worth it, def one of those "big room, many eyes" kinda moments. During undergrad, I had multiple distinctions in diff subjects—some I thought I’d struggle with tbh. But I pushed through, and those small wins added up in a way I didn’t see then. |
I am currently working as a registrar at Cloudnine Hospital, T.Nagar—and honestly, it’s kinda surreal to be part of one of India’s top maternity & children hospitals, right in the middle of all the real action. My day usually starts before the sun shows up and by the time I look up, it’s like 5 deliveries, 10+ rounds, and few emergency consults later. It’s intense but the kind of intense I signed up for. Mostly I’m involved in managing antenatal care, labor room protocols, neonatal emergencies, and coordinating between consultants and support staff. It’s not always smooth—sometimes you walk in expecting a routine checkup & end up managing a high-risk pregnancy in minutes. But that’s where training & instinct sort of merge, and you go autopilot.. not in a robotic way but like muscle memory meets focus. We also do a lot of follow-ups for newborn health, feeding issues, lactation support and yeah, educating new moms & fams (who're often more anxious than the patient tbh). One of the best parts is seeing babies return weeks later, all healthy and chubby—those tiny wins matter. I work alongside some amazing senior consultants, and I learn smething new everyday—whether it’s about handling complications or understanding the emotional side of OB-GYN care. Also trying to slowly get into research side of things but honestly time's a bit crazy rn. Anyway, this space—maternity + child health—is where I feel like I can make a real impact. Not just medically but emotionally too, cause half of it is calming nerves while managing actual clinical concerns. There’s always pressure, yeah, but there’s also a lot of purpose. And ya, still making peace with night shifts, they’re brutal sometimes.
