Dr. Onkar Singh
Experience: | |
Education: | The Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University |
Academic degree: | DM (Doctorate of Medicine) |
Area of specialization: | I am a gastroenterologist with focus on both gastro and liver related problems, and most of my daily work is around helping patients manage things like reflux, chronic hepatitis, IBD, pancreatitis or unexplained abdominal pain. I rely on skills in diagnostic endoscopy and therapeutic endoscopy to identify and treat conditions at early stage, which often make a huge difference in outcome. Over the years i also got good experiance in colonoscopy and side-view scope procedures, where attention to detail matter as much as steady hands. My aim is always to combine technical precision with clear explanation for patients, so they dont feel lost in medical terms. Whether its a routine check or a complex therapeutic scope procedure, i try to keep the focus on evidence based care, and on making patients feel safe, heard and guided through every step of treatment. |
Achievements: | I am grateful that my journey in medicine gave me chance to learn and grow in ways i didnt expect. During my MD in Medicine i was batch topper in 2020, and later in DM Medical Gastroenterology again secured top position in 2025. Along the way i got to present many papers and posters at state and national level conferences, which sharpen my understanding and also gave me exposure to diverse views. One moment i still recall is winning a debate at DMC-IBD Pathshala in 2023, felt like a small validation of hard work. |
I am a DM medical gastroenterologist and over the years my work has revolved around managing wide spectrum of digestive health problems. I am well trained in diagnostic endoscopy, therapeutic endoscopy, colonoscopy and side view scope procedures, these became routine part of my practice with time. Till now i have performed more than 1200 endoscopies and close to 300 colonoscopies, each case teaching me something diff whether about technique or patient handling. On the OPD side, i have seen over 4000 patients with gastro related issues, from common reflux complaints to complex chronic diseases. My focus is not just on the procedure but on understanding the patient journey, because conditions like chronic hepatitis B or C, chronic liver disease, inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), GERD, pancreatitis or even GI malignancies are not only medical problems, they change lives of patients and families. I try to bring clarity to them, explain what treatment really means step by step, and give practical guidance that fits into their daily life. Sometimes it is simple lifestyle adjustments, sometimes long term monitoring, and sometimes advanced interventions, but in all cases the goal is to blend precision with compassion. Every consultation for me is a chance to recheck myself too—did i explain well, did the patient really understand, is there something i missed? That mix of self-questioning and structured evidence based care has shaped my way of working. Being part of gastroenterology means constantly adapting to new guidelines, evolving technologies, and patient expectations. And i feel thats what keeps me steady in this field, balancing numbers and skills with genuine patient centered approach.
