Dr. Surya C
Experience: | 5 years |
Education: | Davao Medical School Foundation, Philippines |
Academic degree: | MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery) |
Area of specialization: | I am working as a general physician and my role is kind of all rounder in health care, from treating common illness like fevr, cough, stomach infections to handling long term problems like hypertension or diabetes which need continous follow up. I see patients across ages, kids, adults and eldery, and that makes every day a bit diff, one case may be as simple as seasonal cold while another can be complex with multiple health issues mixing together.
In opd I focus a lot on diagnosis, sometimes patients come with vague complains like weakness or body ache, and its my job to connect symptoms with proper investigations, not rushing but also not missing important detail. For emergency cases I had to take quick calls to stabilize patients before shifting them for further care. I also manage in-patient treatment, which means daily rounds, adjusting medicines and talking to families about condition and recovery.
As a general physician I dont just prescribe but try to explain lifestyle changes too—diet, exercise, sleep habits—all that plays a big role in keeping patients healthy in long term. I believe trust is important, so I make sure patients feel heard even if I cant solve everything in one visit. Each patient need a bit diff approach, some want detail explanation, some just need reassurance. Over the years this balance of clinical knowledge and patient connect became my strongest part of practice. |
Achievements: | I am in the process of shaping my career through diff training exposures. I will do leadership rotation and also clerkship in Philippines where I learnt practical skills of patient care, teamwork and handling clinical situations. Later I joined Krishnagiri medical college for internship, where daily ward rounds, OPD duties and emergency shifts gave me lot of real hands-on exp. Each step taught me smthing new about responsibility, decision making and continuity of care. |
I am working from last 2 yrs in diff areas of medical care, mainly emergency dept, OPD services and also in-patient ward care. In emergency shifts I learned how to handle sudden and critical cases, from trauma to cardiac events, sometimes late night duty with multiple patients at once, it taught me to act fast but also think clear. In OPD my focus is more on long term disease management, common complaints like fever, gastric issues, hypertension or diabetes follow ups. With in-patients I get to follow the whole process, from diagnosis to monitoring and discharge planning, which makes me see the bigger picture of treatment. I also take care of pedia patients, not only routine complaints like cold cough fever but also acute conditions that need immediate attention. Managing children is always bit challenging since they cant always explain properly, but I try to listen to parents carefully and make the child comfortable before proceeding with any treatment. I believe communication with family is as important as prescription. My practice style is patient centered, I try to blend clinical protocols with simple explanations so patients understand what is happening with their health. Sometimes I may spend extra time in opd clarifying doubts, other times in emergency its about making fast decision to stabilize. I keep updating my knowledge from guidelines and senior mentors. This 2 yrs of diverse work gave me confidence to handle wide range of cases independently, and also made me realise medicine is not only science but also about trust and empathy.
