Education: | M.S. Ramaiah Medical college |
Academic degree: | MCh (Master of Surgery) |
Area of specialization: | I am a Neuro and Spine surgeon and most of my work is around complex surgeries that deal with both life saving and life changing outcomes. I perform brain and spine surgeries of different types – from tumors that need delicate excision, to degenerative spine diseases where pain and mobility are the main issues. I also handle stroke related surgeries, traumatic brain injuries where timing and quick action is everything, and pediatric neurosurgeries which demand extra precision and patience.
For me, each surgery is not just about the technical part but about how it will impact the patient long after they leave the OT. In brain and spine tumors, I focus on maximal safe removal with preserving function. In degenerative spine conditions, I work to give patients relief from chronic pain and help them walk normal again. Stroke and trauma cases often come as emergencies, and in those moments, decision making has to be both fast and accurate, which I see as one of the most challenging yet rewarding part of my job. Pediatric neurosurgery is different in its own way, because children are delicate and parents come with so many questions and fear.. guiding them is as important as treating the child.
My approach is to use evidence based techniques, updated surgical methods, and combine that with a patient centered outlook. I try to explain things in simple langauge, making sure patients and families feel part of the decision. For me, neuro and spine surgery is not just technical skill but also communication, reassurance, and long term care. It’s a field where precision, empathy and resilience must go hand in hand. |
Achievements: | I am actively part of academic work besides clinical practice, attending many medical confernces where I get chance to share my cases and learn from others. Over the years I have also published research in national and internatinal peer reviewed journals, which reflect my focus on evidence based treatment and ongoing learning. Writing and presenting is not just about recognition, for me it keeps my knowlege sharp and connect me with the wider medical community. |
I am practicing as a Neuro and Spine Surgeon in Ahmedabad, and this field for me is not just a profession but also a constant learning curve. My medical journey started at B.J. Medical College and Civil Hospital Ahmedabad where I completed my MBBS and MS. Those years gave me a strong foundation, both in clinical knowledge and in understanding how patients come with not just symptoms but with fears, families and expectations. Later, I pursued my M.Ch. in Neurosurgery from M.S. Ramaiah Medical College, Bengaluru, which helped me deepen my expertise in complex neurosurgical techniques and the intricacies of spine surgery. Most of my work revolves around treating patients with brain and spine disorders, from tumors to degenerative spine diseases, strokes, traumatic brain injuries and pediatric neurosurgery. Each case is different, and I try to look beyond the diagnosis, to see how it impacts the patient’s daily life. In neurosurgery precision is everything, but at the same time, communication and empathy make a huge difference too. That’s why I make it a point to explain conditions in simple terms, discuss options, and involve families in decision making. My approach has always been to combine evidence based practice with a human touch. I use modern imaging and surgical techniques but I also believe that post operative care and rehabilitation are equally critical. Over the years I hv realised that no matter how complex the surgery, healing needs teamwork – with physiotherapists, critical care specialists, nurses all playing a role. Sometimes patients ask me if I still feel nervous before a major surgery, and truthfully yes, a little.. but that’s what keeps me grounded and focused. I see every patient as unique, and I remind myself that for them, this one surgery may be the most important day of their life. My commitment is to deliver safe, precise and compassionate care, and to keep growing as a surgeon who balances skill with empathy.
