Dr. Adithya Kumar
Experience: | 6 years |
Education: | Dy Patil School of Dentistry |
Academic degree: | Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) |
Area of specialization: | I am specialised in root canal therapy (endodontics) where most of my work is with diseases of tooth pulp and periapical tissues. Many cases are complex root canal procedures or treatment of dental trauma that come suddenly after accident or long neglect. I also deal with pulp diseases, diagnosis that need careful judgement and when needed surgical endodontics. Saving the natural tooth when possible is my main focus, because nothing replace the real one even with best prosthetic.
Along with that I also work in aesthetic dentistry, which is more about how a smile look and feel to the patient. Veneers, bonding, inlays, onlays, bleaching and cosmetic fillings are part of this work. For some patients its about fixing a small chip or discoloration, for others a complete smile correction. I try to balance function with appearance, making sure the treatment is not just pretty but also long lasting.
For me both endodontics and cosmetic dental work connect together — relief from pain and restoring confidence. Every case is different, some are straightforward some take multiple sittings, but I believe explaining options openly and listening to patient concerns make the treatment smoother and build trust. |
Achievements: | I am working as a consultant for the past 6 years, and those years taught me more than any book could. During this time I had the chance to treat wide variety of patients and refine my clinical judgement every single day. One highlight in my journey was winning first prize for a poster presentation at the national conference conducted by ISPRP in 2016. That award felt special not just because of recognition, but because it reflect the effort I put into research and clear presentation of ideas!! |
I am Dr. Adithya Kumar, and my journey in dentistry started with completing my Master’s in Dental Surgery from DY Patil University, Navi Mumbai. My main area of expertise is root canal therapy and aesthetic dentistry, two fields that require both precision and a sense of detail. For me a root canal is not just about removing pain, it’s about preserving natural teeth whenever possible, and aesthetic dentistry is about restoring confidence along with function. Over the past six years I have been working as a consultant in and around Thrissur, Kerala, meeting patients with all kinds of dental concerns — cavities, gum disease, trauma, missing teeth, cosmetic corrections. For the last two years I am also running my own dental clinic, which gave me deeper understanding of how to balance clinical care with patient comfort, staff coordination and even the small details that make a visit less stressful. Being fluent in Hindi, English, Tamil and Malayalam helps me connect with people from different backgrounds. I notice patients feel more relaxed when they can express themselves in the language they are most comfortable with, and it makes diagnosis clearer too. Communication is as much part of dentistry as drilling or filling. In my practice I aim to combine advanced treatment methods with a compassionate approach. Whether it’s a routine filling, complex root canal, smile design, or long term oral health plan, I try to ensure every patient leave with clarity about their condition and confidence in the treatment. I believe dental care is not just fixing problems when they appear but also guiding people in prevention, because good oral health directly reflect on overall health too. Looking back at these years, what stands out are not just the technical cases but the trust patients show by returning and recommending. That trust is what I see as the biggest achievement, and it keep me focused on delivering care that is both professional and personal at the same time.
